Mauritius

Mauritius

On 26th September 2019, I flew out with Emirates from Manchester airport through Dubai and on to Mauritius for my work "top sellers" conference.

We arrived at our Beachcomber hotel – Troux Biches Golf Resort and Spa on the North West coast of the island the following morning, after an approx. 1 hour transfer from the airport.

It had been more than 16 years since I had last been to Mauritius for my honeymoon in August 2003, having stayed that time on the East coast of the island.

The weather on the West coast was fabulous during our short four-night stay, with temperatures around 30 degrees and the most amazing evening sunsets too.

I absolutely loved the Troux Au Biches hotel, the service and staff were second to none and we were made to feel very welcome, with a fabulous welcome evening party, and a pool party day and THE most amazing dinner on the beach on our last night there.

The Troux Au Biches hotel is set on a pristine two-kilometre white sandy beach, it also has beautiful grounds with a choice of pools and dining options and a gorgeous spa too.

The hotel includes some water sports and land sports and as the name implies there is also access to a golf course too.

During our stay we also had the pleasure of visiting another Beachcomber property the Victoria which has a great vibe for families and also Victoria Two an adult only property.

The location of both of these properties is excellent in terms of access to the town of Grand Baie, which is short taxi ride away for a daytime or evening visit.

On one of our free days we had a brilliant trip that departed from the south of the island which was a speed boat trip, this included the option to go snorkelling, visit a water fall, see some wild monkeys and a brilliant beach lunch and barbecue, not to mention free drinks for the day, I can highly recommend trying the rum!

There are an abundance of activities to do in Mauritius from speed boat and snorkelling trips, sea fishing or catamaran boat trips, quad biking, horse riding, golf, tropical garden visits, waterfalls and Casela Wildlife park to name but a few.

I absolutely loved my stay in Mauritius, I just wish it was longer, so I could enjoy it more!

I can highly recommend Mauritius and the hotels that Beachcomber offer for both couples and families, I cannot wait to return to Mauritius to explore everything its has to offer further with my family.
