Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa

Discovering Paradise at Paradis Golf & Spa Resort — Even If You’ve Never Swung a Club

I will be honest: before my trip to Paradis Golf & Spa Resort in Mauritius, the closest I’d ever come to playing golf was watching other people do it on TV. I couldn’t tell you the difference between a driver and a putter, and the idea of stepping onto a championship course felt… intimidating.

But here’s the thing about Paradis: you don’t need to know a single thing about golf to fall completely in love with this place.

A Setting That Feels Like a Dream

From the moment I arrived, I understood why this resort is so well‑loved. Nestled between the iconic Le Morne mountain and a sparkling turquoise lagoon, Paradis feels like it was designed by nature itself. The views are the kind that stop you mid‑sentence.

My private villa opened straight onto lush gardens and the beach beyond. Waking up to the sound of gentle waves and stepping outside into warm Mauritian sunshine became my favourite morning ritual.

So Much More Than Golf

What surprised me most about Paradis was just how much there is to do, even if you never pick up a golf club. The lagoon became my playground — I tried snorkelling, kayaking, and even a glass‑bottom boat trip where I drifted over coral gardens teeming with colour. On land, I joined a yoga class with the mountain rising behind me, explored the resort’s boutiques, and wandered along the beach at sunset when the sky turned molten gold. For the more adventurous, there are boat excursions, nature hikes, and even the chance to visit nearby Le Morne for a dose of Mauritian culture and history. Every day offered something new, and I loved having the freedom to do as much — or as blissfully little — as I wanted.

The Golf Course I Didn’t Expect to Love

Even as a non‑golfer, I couldn’t help but be drawn to the beauty of the 18‑hole championship course. It winds along the shoreline, with palm trees swaying and the ocean glimmering beside the fairways. I may not have known how to play, but I absolutely knew how to appreciate the scenery.

One morning, curiosity got the better of me, and I booked a beginner’s session at the golf academy. To my surprise, it was fun — genuinely fun. The instructor was patient, encouraging, and made everything feel easy. I even managed a few decent shots, though I suspect the breath-taking backdrop did most of the work.

By the end of the lesson, I understood why golfers adore this place. And while I’m not ready for the PGA Tour just yet, I left feeling proud of myself for trying something new.

A Resort That Goes Above & Beyond

What truly won me over, though, was everything else Paradis offers.

The Lagoon

Warm, calm, and impossibly clear — I spent hours swimming, paddleboarding, and simply floating while the sun danced on the water.

The Spa

If heaven has a scent, it’s whatever they use at the spa. My massage melted away every trace of stress, and the peaceful setting made it easy to switch off completely.

The Food

Every meal felt like a celebration. Fresh seafood, Mauritian flavours, beachside dining under the stars — it was indulgence in its purest form.

The Atmosphere

Despite its size and prestige, Paradis has a wonderfully relaxed, welcoming feel. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or someone who can’t tell a bunker from a birdie, you’re treated with the same warmth and care.

Leaving With More Than Memories

I arrived at Paradis Golf & Spa Resort thinking golf wasn’t for me. I left with a new skill, a new appreciation, and a heart full of unforgettable moments.

If you’re dreaming of a holiday where you can relax, explore, indulge, and maybe even surprise yourself, Paradis is the perfect place to do it. Golf experience optional — paradise guaranteed.
