My Stay at Shandrani Beachcomber Resort & Spa:

From the moment I stepped onto Shandrani Beachcomber’s private peninsula, I felt like I’d arrived somewhere truly special. Wrapped by the protected Blue Bay Marine Park and framed by three pristine beaches, this resort doesn’t just sit in nature—it breathes it. Every direction I turned offered another postcard‑worthy view: turquoise shallows, swaying palms, and that unmistakable Mauritian warmth that makes you feel instantly at home.

A Resort That Lives and Breathes the Ocean

What struck me first was the energy here. Shandrani is known for its vitality, and it shows—water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, snorkelling, and even access to the Avalon 18‑hole golf course mean you can be as active (or blissfully lazy) as you want. I spent my mornings drifting over coral gardens and my afternoons stretched out on soft white sand, listening to the gentle hush of the lagoon.

Families are wonderfully catered for too, with a Kids Club, a unique Petit Club for little ones, and endless nature‑based activities. But this trip, I was here for something different—something quieter.

The New Adults‑Only Haven

Since my stay, Shandrani has launched a dedicated adults‑only wing — and honestly, it sounds like the missing piece I didn’t know I needed.

The new “Shandrani for 2” area features beautifully redesigned rooms, including Beach Rooms just steps from the sand and Bay View Rooms with sweeping ocean views. It’s designed for tranquillity, privacy, and that slow, luxurious pace you crave on a romantic or child‑free escape.

When I stayed, I already felt the resort had pockets of calm, but the idea of an entire adults‑only section — with its own serene atmosphere — has me itching to book the next flight.

With six restaurants and three bars, I never ran out of places to indulge. Fresh seafood by the beach, Mauritian flavours under the stars, and long, lazy lunches became part of my daily rhythm. And the Spa Beachcomber? Pure bliss—tropical gardens, soothing treatments, and a sense of calm that lingers long after you leave.
