Siyam World Maldives
Siyam World Maldives
If you’re looking for a Maldives holiday that goes above and beyond the typical barefoot luxury island escape, then Siyam World is one to have firmly on your radar. We recently stayed here and honestly, it was one of the most unforgettable holidays I’ve ever had.
This sprawling 5* island resort delivers that iconic Maldivian experience (think overwater villas, turquoise lagoons, and white sand beaches) but with a vibrant, fun, and high-energy twist. It’s perfect for couples, families, and groups alike, with endless things to do, places to eat, and experiences to try.
The WOW! Factor
The resort operates on a WOW! 24/7 Premium All-Inclusive package, and it truly lives up to the name. It’s not just your standard AI - it’s extensive, flexible, and packed with value.
You can hop between 7 bars and choose to dine at Kaage (Maldivian), Takrai (Thai), Andalucia (Spanish), Delmare (Italian), Kurry Leaf (Indian), Wahoo Grill, or the main buffet restaurant. Plus, there’s Arigato, a beautiful Japanese overwater restaurant that’s chargeable, but all guests receive 50% off food and drinks are still included.
We booked a private teppanyaki experience at Arigato and it was honestly one of the highlights of the trip! You choose from a selection of set menus—we went for the Wagyu tenderloin (absolutely delicious!) and dine in a stunning beachfront setting with your own chef cooking in front of you. The atmosphere, food, and experience were all incredible.
Villas, Amenities & Arrival Experience
Upon arrival, you’re met by your personal ambassador, who becomes your go-to contact during your stay. Ours met us straight from the seaplane, took us through check-in, and escorted us to our villa, explaining the island layout, restaurants, and how everything works. They share their WhatsApp details so you can message them directly at any time. Whether you want to book a dinner, plan a surprise, or arrange an experience, they’re on hand to make it all happen. (My husband even proposed to me here, and our ambassador helped with every little detail, table decorations, timing, the lot!)
The villas are stunning and fully equipped. You’ll find shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, and even vanity kits with toothbrushes and cotton pads. There are also mosquito plugs, bathrobes, slippers, and hairdryers. I’d recommend bringing your own conditioner or hair mask if your hair gets dry in the sun, but otherwise, you’re well covered, no need to overpack toiletries, especially with the 20kg hold luggage + 5kg hand luggage seaplane allowance.
Unique Experiences & Recommendations
There are so many experiences available at Siyam World, but here are a few personal highlights and honest thoughts:
• Teppanyaki Dinner at Arigato – A must-do for foodies and special occasions. Sunset views and world-class food in a private beachfront setting.
• Sunset Cruise (complimentary) – We saw loads of dolphins, and the golden skies were just magical. Highly recommend!
• Floating Waterpark – The largest in the Maldives! It’s so much fun (and surprisingly hard work!) great for burning off the all-inclusive cocktails
• Floating Breakfast – A fab photo opportunity and fun one-off experience, but if I’m honest, it’s more of a novelty than a necessity. Once the pic is taken, it’s a bit awkward trying to keep your croissants dry!
• Private Dining on the Beach – While we didn’t book it at Siyam World, we’ve done it elsewhere and it’s SO worth it. Sand between your toes, stars overhead, incredible food—it’s the perfect romantic evening and I’d 100% recommend it, especially for an anniversary.
• Snorkelling with Turtles – Siyam World offers a Turtle Safari or Sunset Cruise as complimentary excursions. I’ve done the turtle snorkelling before, and it was surreal, genuinely one of those “pinch me” moments I’ll never forget.
For snorkelling, life jackets are provided in your villa, and you can borrow snorkel gear and flippers for free from the dive centre (just by the arrival jetty). Super easy and accessible for all skill levels.
Tips & Extras
• Dining Reservations: It’s best to book your preferred restaurants in advance via the app or your ambassador, especially if you’re visiting during peak dates. You can always swap bookings around later, but securing your top choices ahead of time is wise.
• Currency: All prices are shown in US dollars, and everything is charged to your room, including tips. You’ll sign a bill after each meal with an optional space to add a tip. Cash tips can be given in dollars if you prefer, but there’s no pressure, we added tips to our final bill with ease.
• Special Occasions: If you’re celebrating something like a birthday or anniversary, speak to your ambassador—they’ll go above and beyond to make it special. You can also pre-book private dinners or extras before arrival, and menus can be sent in advance via WhatsApp if needed.
• Activities Locations: Nearly all experiences take place on the island, locations just refer to different areas, like the big open beach near Arigato. The private island dining is the only one that takes place off the main island.
Final Thoughts
Siyam World has something for everyone, whether you want to unwind in your private pool villa, try new cuisines every night, or stay active with tennis, diving, or water sports. There’s live music, DJs, circus acts, movies under the stars, and even an international-size football pitch. You won’t be bored!
It’s the perfect blend of luxury and laid-back fun, and for those looking for more than just a sleepy island getaway, it hits the spot. For a special celebration, a romantic escape, or just a tropical adventure, you won’t regret choosing Siyam World.
