Conrad Maldives Rangali Island - Until Next Time
Conrad Maldives Rangali Island - Until Next Time
CONRAD MALDIVES RANGALI ISLAND
And just like that… it’s time to say "until next time” to this beautiful island.
After 21 years since my last visit, returning to Conrad Maldives Rangali Island has been rather special - and if anything, it has reminded me exactly why the Maldives stays so firmly on the travel wish list.
It’s the obvious things first…
The incredible shades of blue. The soft white sand. The lush tropical greenery. The feeling of being surrounded by nature, with nothing but ocean stretching out around you.
But what really stood out to me at Rangali was the people
Many of the team have been here for years, with some having been part of the Conrad family for more than 30 years. That kind of loyalty says so much about a resort - and you can genuinely feel the pride they have in what they do.
And there is so much more to Rangali than beautiful beaches.
✨ Two natural islands connected by a bridge, surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife
🚲 Bikes provided for every villa — the perfect way to explore
✈️ A private lounge at the seaplane terminal
👧 Kids & teens clubs with treasure hunts, baking and plenty to keep younger guests entertained
🏖️ An adults-only beach club, pool and bar for guests aged 16+
🎨 Art classes, nature walks, yoga and sound baths
🎾 Tennis and padel
💆♀️ An incredible overwater spa
And then there’s the food ...
From Vilu, Ufaa, Rangali Bar, Atoll Market and Mandhoo, to Koko — the Japanese restaurant right on the beach — there is an impressive choice of dining experiences.
The Cheese & Wine Bar is another lovely addition, offering tastings and the perfect excuse to slow down and enjoy an evening glass of wine.
And then there is Ithaa.
The iconic underwater restaurant sits six metres beneath the Indian Ocean, where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner surrounded by the incredible marine life. Or simply pop down for an hour and experience it for yourself.
And, of course, there is The Muraka, one of the most extraordinary accommodation experiences anywhere in the Maldives.
But perhaps what I loved most about Rangali is the feeling of relaxed luxury.
Nothing feels forced or overly formal. It is luxurious, but still natural, relaxed and wonderfully connected to its surroundings.
And after waiting 21 years to return, I think it’s fair to say my next visit definitely won‘t take quite as long…
Until next time, Rangali.
