π΄ Florida Work Trip 2025 β From Theme Parks to the Sunshine Coast βοΈ
Iβve just landed back from an incredible work trip to Florida hosted by Ocean Florida β and what a week it was!
From villa inspections and theme park thrills to luxury beach stays and a few unforgettable sunsets, it was such a full-on but brilliant trip. My feet might still be recovering, but my iPhone notes (and camera roll!) are packed with first-hand tips and inspiration to share.

π‘ Villa Life at Reunion
Our first few nights were spent in a huge 9-bedroom villa in Reunion β plenty of space, a big sociable kitchen and living area, and your own private pool. Itβs such a great way for families or groups to experience Orlando: loads of room, no rushing to breakfast times, and the freedom to do things your own way.
Throughout the week, we also toured villas across Encore at Reunion, Windsor Island and ChampionsGate, ranging from affordable townhouses to some seriously impressive luxury homes with themed bedrooms, cinema rooms and games lounges.
It really confirmed what I already tell my clients β villas can be such incredible value for larger families or multi-generational holidays, without losing any of the comfort or quality youβd expect from a luxury trip.

π’ Universal Orlando & Halloween Horror Nights π
Next up was Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure β a full-on, high-energy day packed with thrills. The detail and theming are honestly second to none. We laughed our way through Minions, braved the VelociCoaster, and had that βwowβ moment in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (yes, the dragon breathes real fire!).
That evening we stayed on for Halloween Horror Nights, which was absolutely worth the hype. Itβs spooky, theatrical and so much fun β Iβm not usually one for jump scares but I loved it. Itβs such a unique experience and completely transforms the park after dark.
π¨ Universal Hotels β The Perfect Park Base
We also had the chance to tour some of the Universal Orlando hotels, and they really do cater for every style of stay. From the lively Hard Rock Hotel with its unbeatable location just steps from the parks, to the elegant Loews Portofino Bay with its Italian-inspired charm, and the tropical vibes of Loews Royal Pacific β each offers its own unique feel.
We also viewed the brand-new Helios Grand Hotel, which is sleek, modern, and such an exciting new addition to the Universal portfolio. Staying on-site makes park days so easy, with early entry and transport included, so you can maximise the fun without any stress.

π° Disney Days & Cirque du Soleil Nights
Of course, no trip to Orlando is complete without a Disney day! We spent ours at Magic Kingdom and it was pure magic from start to finish β rides, parades, fireworks, and that nostalgic Disney buzz that never fades.
We also spent an evening at Disney Springs, which has had such a glow-up in recent years. Dinner at Summer House on the Lake was lovely, followed by Cirque du Soleil! It was one of those evenings that just leaves you smiling and your heart racing from some of the tricks π
π Disneyβs Animal Kingdom Lodge
Although we didnβt visit the park itself, we did have a site visit of Disneyβs Animal Kingdom Lodge β and wow, what a special resort. From the moment you step into the lobby it feels like youβve been transported to Africa. The views over the savannah, where you can spot giraffes and zebras from your balcony, are just incredible. Itβs such a memorable option for families or couples wanting a luxury stay that still feels truly magical.

π‘ ICON Park & A Spot of Shopping
Between the park days, we squeezed in some shopping at The Mall at Millenia β one of Orlandoβs most stylish malls, packed with designer stores and some really nice dining options.
We also visited ICON Park, which is a great low-key evening spot β restaurants, Madame Tussaudβs, Sealife centre, The Wheel, live music β perfect for when you want to unwind without the crowds.

π Gatorland β Fun with a Purpose
We also made time for Gatorland, which turned out to be a great day out for families. Itβs not just an attraction β itβs also a rescue and conservation centre that gives abandoned or injured alligators a permanent, safe home.
Thereβs a small splash park, a zipline and educational talks throughout the day, making it the perfect balance of fun and learning. Itβs lovely to see an animal attraction thatβs run responsibly and with genuine care for the welfare of the animals.

πͺ Axe Throwing Fun!
Somewhere between all the villa tours and park days, we squeezed in an axe throwing session β and honestly, it was so much fun! A great laugh for groups or team trips and something totally different to break up the theme park buzz. Competitive? Absolutely. But such a good way to unwind after a busy day (and who knew it was such a workout too!).

π¨ The DalΓ Museum β Surrealism by the Sea
Over in St. Petersburg, we explored the Salvador DalΓ Museum. From the bold architecture to the waterfront setting, itβs breathtaking before you even step inside.
DalΓβs work is every bit as fascinating as youβd expect β imaginative, surreal, and a reminder that creativity really has no limits. Whether youβre an art lover or just curious, itβs such a special stop if youβre heading to the Gulf Coast.

π΄ The Don CeSar β The Iconic Pink Palace
And now for the grand finaleβ¦ The Don CeSar Hotel on St. Peteβs Beach.
Honestly, this hotel blew me away. Known affectionately as The Pink Palace, itβs been welcoming guests since 1928 and is every bit as glamorous as it looks in photos. Marilyn Monroe even honeymooned here!
Inside, itβs timelessly elegant yet relaxed β soft pink tones, coastal views and beautiful service throughout. The rooms are spacious and stylish, the restaurants are fantastic, and the beach is everything you dream of when you picture Floridaβs Gulf Coast.

π¬ A Peek at the JW Marriott Clearwater Beach
We also had the chance to visit the JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa, which is absolutely stunning β boutique in size but big on luxury.
The rooftop pool and restaurant overlook the Gulf, the private beach feels exclusive and calm, and the whole resort just radiates understated elegance. Itβs perfect for couples or families who love a modern five-star stay but without the crowds.

This trip reminded me why Florida continues to be one of my top recommendations for clients. Itβs not just theme parks β itβs luxury villas, culture, coastal beauty, incredible food and the friendliest people. You can go from rollercoasters to white-sand beaches in just a few hours, and thatβs what makes it so special.
