🩵 OZEN LIFE Maadhoo – Luxury, Simplicity, and an Underwater Dream 🩵

As part of our dream honeymoon in the Maldives, we were incredibly lucky to spend two unforgettable nights at OZEN LIFE Maadhoo and let me tell you, this island completely stole our hearts. From the second we stepped off the speedboat, greeted with champagne, ocean views, and a welcome foot massage, we knew we had officially arrived in paradise.

Getting There

OZEN LIFE Maadhoo is located in the South Malé Atoll, just a 45-minute luxury speedboat ride from Malé International Airport. While we waited for our transfer, we relaxed in the OZEN lounge, enjoying complimentary drinks, snacks, and Wi-Fi (always handy for that “just landed in paradise” Instagram post!).

This was actually the original OZEN resort in the Maldives, and it remains a firm favourite for good reason. At just 900 metres long and 80 metres wide, Maadhoo is wonderfully intimate, yet it still packs a punch when it comes to activities, dining, and unforgettable experiences.

Our Villa: Earth Villa

We stayed in one of the beautiful Earth Beach Villas, decorated in warm, natural tones that immediately made us feel relaxed and at home. The design reflects a true island vibe, spacious, stylish, and steps from the sea. These villas are available with or without private pools; we opted for one without, as we were only staying for a couple of nights. That said, if you’re staying longer, I would definitely recommend the pool upgrade, as the main pool area can get a little busy due to the island’s compact size.

Each villa also includes complimentary bicycles, which we loved riding around the palm-lined paths, another one of those “pinch me” Maldives moments.

The Indulgence Plan – All-Inclusive, Elevated

OZEN Maadhoo’s Indulgence Plan is honestly one of the best all-inclusive packages we’ve come across. It includes:

• Premium dine-around experiences
• A selection of fine wines and premium spirits
• Daily minibar replenishment, including a dedicated wine fridge
• Non-motorised water sports
• Two daily snorkelling trips
• Even spa treatments and excursions (for longer stays)

There are five restaurants and two bars, including a dedicated gin bar with homemade infusions. Whether you’re craving authentic Maldivian cuisine, Asian flavours, or global favourites, you’ll find something to love. Plus, snacks are available throughout the day at the beach club and pool bar, you’ll never go hungry here!

Culinary Highlights

Upon arrival, our dinner reservations and lunch experience were already arranged, another thoughtful touch that made everything so easy.

• Lonu – The resort’s Maldivian signature restaurant, where we enjoyed a multi-sensory tasting menu paired with stunning views over the ocean. I’ll admit, I was a little unsure at first reading the menu, as the dishes were unfamiliar, but that’s what made it so special! It was a gastronomic journey through the Maldives, with local chefs explaining each dish and sharing stories behind the flavours. Absolutely delicious—and one of the most memorable meals of the trip.

• M6M – Minus Six Metres – The iconic underwater restaurant and easily the highlight of our entire honeymoon. This is the kind of experience that defines a bucket-list Maldives stay. Dining beneath the surface with panoramic views of the underwater world while enjoying fine dining and exceptional service… it was magical. While M6M is included for guests staying 4 nights or more, we paid to experience it during our 2-night stay—and it was worth every single penny.

Activities & Marine Life

OZEN LIFE Maadhoo offers a fantastic mix of relaxation and adventure. You can snorkel right off the beach, or take advantage of the twice-daily complimentary snorkelling trips to nearby reefs. Until this trip, I didn’t realise how calming snorkelling could be, I could have spent hours floating in the warm, clear water surrounded by vibrant marine life. We spotted turtles, rays, reef sharks, and so much more.

Water sports are also included in the Indulgence Plan (non-motorised), and if you want to try something a bit more thrilling like jet-skiing or wakeboarding, these are available for a small additional charge.

And if relaxation is your thing? The overwater spa is the perfect place to unwind, with treatments included in longer stays under the Indulgence Plan.

Final Thoughts

Whether it’s sipping gin cocktails at the beach bar, enjoying a Maldivian tasting menu at sunset, or dining six meters beneath the sea, OZEN LIFE Maadhoo delivers a next-level Maldives experience that is both luxurious and personal.
