It would be hard to beat the picture perfect location of Kurma Beach House. A gate at the end of the garden opens onto Habaraduwa beach, a mile long stretch of powdery white sand backed by swaying palms; this beach is also where marine turtles lay their eggs at night. There are a number of restaurants including the reknown KK beach within walking distance, while Galle Fort is just 10km away for sightseeing, shopping and dining. If you’d prefer to stay within the comfort of your villa, the staff will ensure that you are very well looked after.

The villa itself has been beautifully designed with a huge open living area with comfortable seating and high wood-beamed ceilings. This opens out to the terrace with a table for al fresco dining and further seating for relaxing. The private pool is quite spectacular, accompanied by parasols and wooden loungers looking across the lawned garden and out to sea. The ground floor has two double bedrooms, which are both en suite with super king size 4 poster beds. On the first floor is a further double bedroom with shower room, accessed by an external staircase.

A stay at Kurma Beach House can be as relaxed or active as you wish. Wander along the picture perfect long sandy beach and dip in the ocean. Relax with a book in the gardens or have an in-room massage. Visit the a turtle hatchery. Take a guided bicycle ride inland exploring local villages and paddy fields. Galle with atmospheric streets and historic sights and gem shopping is well worth a visit. Go whale watching, surfing, diving and snorkelling from nearby beaches or visit a historic tea factory.
