Sigiriya

The ancient rock fort, Sigiriya, is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world. The 200 metre high rock is situated in the heart of the island between Dambula and Habaraue. The surrounding grounds feature the remains of a ruined palace, a vast garden with ponds and fountains, and a network of fortifications. It’s well worth the climb to the top of the rock for spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.

Kandy

The city of Kandy is situated in central Sri Lanka and is surrounded by mountains which are home to vast tea plantations. One of the many reasons to travel the city is to visit the Temple of the Tooth. This fascinating Buddhist temple is situated within the Royal Palace complex and houses a casket containing a tooth of the Buddha.
