Ozen Life Maadhoo - Maldives

At the end of June 2024, I was so very fortunate to embark on an eight night trip with my Designer Travel colleagues to the Maldives.

We spent two nights at four different islands in the Maldives and Ozen Life Maadhoo was our third stop, for nights five and six of our trip multi centre, Maldives trip.

Ozen Life Maadhoo, is a secluded Maldives island sanctuary. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with a foot massage, champagne and amazing views of the stunning ocean all around.

Ozen Life Maadhoo is located in the South Male Atoll. This island is just a short transfer from Male International Airport, approximately 45 minutes via Luxury speedboat. While we waited for our transfer to the island we were able to take advantage of the complimentary Ozen lounge access at Male airport.

Ozen Life Maadhoo was the first Ozen resort in the Maldives (back in 2016) and it continues to be a firm favourite for 5* Maldives resorts, we chatted to many repeat guests whilst we were at this hotel, and it’s obvious why people return year after year. In 2021 the hotel re branded as Ozen Life Maadhoo.

This island is only 900m long by 80m wide so it’s fairly easy to get your bearings quite quickly here.

For such a small island there are still lots of activities here to keep you busy, each villa is provided with bikes for use around the island if you wish and water sports and non-motorised are included within your all-inclusive package but motorised, like most resorts come at a small charge.

You can collect your snorkel on day one and snorkel just steps from your villa or take advantage of the twice-daily complimentary snorkel trips and immerse yourself in the vibrant marine life surrounding Maadhoo Island, with sea turtles, nurse sharks, stingrays and variety of marine life and so much more.

The PAID-certified dive school has multilingual professionals on hand to assist both new and experienced divers to explore the unique dive locations near the resort. Children from 8 can join in too with the PADI Bubble Maker course - great fun!
Other water-sports offer windsurfing, kite surfing, Jet skis, Fly board, parasailing, catamarans and more.

Children will love the fun-filled activities at the Ozen Kids Club and you won‘ t be disappointed when it‘ s time to eat with the range of dining options every day at Ozen‘s restaurants.

At Ozen Life Maadhoo the indulgence all-inclusive plan is such an amazing package. It is a unique, exclusive dining plan with just about everything included. Enjoy all-inclusive dine-around experiences, premium spirits, excursions and luxury spa treatments. Your in-room minibar is replenished daily with snacks, soft drinks, beers, water and there’s even a separate wine fridge which is also included. There are two bars, including a gin bar with lots of home made gins to sample (we did the most amazing gin tasting exercise here with an expert) plus five different restaurants here, the main buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner, then a Maldivian restaurant, Indian and Chinese and not forgetting the underwater restaurant, snacks are also available from the beach club and pool bar too.

M6M the underwater restaurant, is hands down one of the key selling points of this island! It certainly does not disappoint, when staying 4 nights or more this is included as an option for dining. You get the most spectacular underwater sea views at Minus 6 Meters whilst experiencing fine dining at one of the most sought-after dining destinations in the Maldives, when we visited there was marine life and sharks galore coming to greet you!

At Maadhoo we stayed in one of the Wind Villas, which is a magical overwater retreat suspended on stilts above the Indian ocean, they are warm, dreamy and are an “inspiring space” with bursts of chic tropical decor and exquisite bathrooms with free-standing elliptical bathtubs and uninterrupted horizon views. A small glass floor in the villa adds to it’s charm with a glimpse of the amazing aquatic life below.
