Maldives - Oblu Nature Helengeli by Sentido

This was out first hotel stay on our Maldives trip the 4* Superior Oblu Nature Helengeli by Sentido Resort



This hotel closed in May 2023 for a refurbishment and opened in December 2023, after 7 months.



Transfer time from Male - Velana airport was around 50 minutes ( by complimentary speedboat) and we received a very warm Maldivian welcome when we arrived into Oblu Nature Helengeli by Sentido with a cold glass of fizz or none alcoholic drink, a refreshing face towel and music and dance by the welcome party!



I was allocated a Sunset Water Villa with a private pool - number 703, these Water Villas have wonderful colours in keeping with the Maldives and private pools over water with a door connecting from the bedroom and the bathroom too, with the bathrooms having an open floor part to the water below so you can see the tropical fish! The bathrooms had the best ceramic sinks I have ever seen in a Turquoise Blue oyster shape From the decking area out of the back of the water villa, you have steps to take you down into the sea, so don't forget to pick up your snorkelling equipment from the water sports store and you can keep this for your stay and happily snorkel off the back of you water villa.



These Water Villas can accommodate two adults, plus one child From where the water villas are located you can walk to the restaurants and bars or you can call and request a buggy to take you.



The resort of Oblu Nature Helengeli by Sentido has 153 villas, across eight different room categories from deluxe beach villas to water suites with poo, for families they have some fabulous two bedroom family villas with pool (19 of these) and also two bedroom beach suites with pool (3 of these)



The hotel has a buffet restaurant and two speciality dining restaurants of Just Grill and Raga Route, both of which we were able to experience during our stay, these speciality dining experiences usually vary based on your duration of stay at the hotel being a minimum of four nights.



The fabulous Helen's bar has a Bohemian Chic vibe with outdoor over water hammocks and an indoor games area with Table Tennis, Billiard pool, Dart Board, Chess) and dance floor with DJ station, the resort has live music or a DJ on, five nights a week.



For excursions Oblu Nature Helengeli by Sentido offers:- ONE complimentary Traditional line fishing per guest per stay (Morning: 8:00 hrs – 9:30 hrs) ONE complimentary Sunset Local Dhoni ride per guest per stay (Sunset: 17:15 hrs – 18:30hrs) Snorkelling equipment kayaks and stand up paddle boards are free and come as part of your all-inclusive package



The resort has a fabulous gym plus you can partake in activities like "Sunrise Yoga"



There is a shop open daily for essentials and small gifts The resort has two pools, a main one and an adult only one and a third small pool inside the lovely kids club too



They have an Elejna spa where two of colleagues were able to experience fabulous massage treatments too.



I absolutely loved the Ambience and laid back atmosphere at Oblu Nature Helengeli by Sentido.



I loved seeing the beautiful fish under my water villa, the fruit bats in the trees (even in the day time) the geckos and lizards and the style of the resort where you walked under tree cover in parts of the main area.



I would have no hesitation recommending this Oblu Nature Helengeli by Sentido to couples or families or returning here myself, I loved it!
