Majorca - Adult Only Break

Majorca - Adult Only Break

On the 7th of August 2022, I flew with my husband for a five-night break to Majorca, staying in the resort of Playa De Palma.

This was our first “holiday” away as a couple on our own without the children in over seventeen years (taking advantage of the one-week Explorers and Scout camp for our girls), and a belated 50th birthday celebration for 2021

When booking the trip, we decided to choose an “adult only” hotel as we were travelling in the peak school summer holidays in August.

We had pre-booked a direct transfer from Palma airport and as Playa De Palma is more or less the neighbouring resort to Palma city/bay, the transfer time was short at around 15 minutes door to door.

Our hotel was the 4*+ Pure Salt Garonda, sat on the front of the (pretty much pedestrianised) promenade of Playa De Palma, we had booked a double room with a side sea view and were allocated a room on the third floor with fabulous views over the hotel outdoor pool and side on sea and beach views too.

Our board basis at the hotel was bed and breakfast basis and we were able to sample some fabulous local restaurants on the promenade and also in neighbouring side and parallel streets too.

The hotel had a rooftop terrace with lush sunbeds and a bar open from 4pm until late, if you needed a drink or food from the hotel prior to that you could phone down to request your order of food and drink, some days we had this entire roof top terrace to ourselves until later in the day.

The rooftop terrace was also the best location for “sundowners” whilst watching the stunning sunsets over Palma Bay – check out my photo’s.

The resort of Playa De Palma is popular with families, couples, and groups of friends alike Playa De Palma has a fabulous train that runs the full length of the resort from the Bay of Palma and then down to the opposite end of the resort where Playa De Palma meets El Arenal, this is a great way to see the resort esp. in the shade in a 37-degreee heat!

We explored the amazing resort of Playa De Palma during our six days, spent time by the pool and rooftop terrace chilling out and on the beach.

As a resort Playa De Palma, has to offer you: - the mini-train, an aquarium, mini-golf, plus it’s easy to take a trip into Palma, you can hire quad bikes, bikes and cars, take boat trips or hire a boat, plus much more.

My top tip is to make sure you are aware of the cost of the sunbeds on the beach before you sit down as 55 Euros was a bit steep for two beds and an umbrella, even if they did look gorgeous and were super comfy!

I cannot recommend this resort highly enough for an easy short break in the sunshine
