We spent an incredible 2 nights at the historic Heritance Tea Factory in the highlands of Sri Lanka. As the name suggests, the hotel is in a converted former tea plantation and is still surrounded by the terraced fields of tea plants. It is absolutely beautiful! Set amidst misty mountains and lush tea estates, Heritance Tea Factory blends heritage and exclusivity in a restored 19th-century tea factory located on the 22nd stage of the Pekoe Trail in Sri Lanka. At an elevation of over 2000m above sea level, discover experiences steeped in history and nature, scenic views amidst the Pekoe Trail in Sri Lanka and Ramayana trail, curated culinary journeys, tea-inspired menus and warm Sri Lankan hospitality.

Part of my stay included learning about how tea is grown, harvested and shipped to us in the UK - as you can see, I even got a chance to pick tea myself - All in traditional local clothing. This really was an incredible experience and one I highly recommend. After a morning in the fields, I enjoyed some real Ceylon tea back at the hotel. Delicious. Who knew there was so much that went into your daily cup of tea!
