Franschhoek Wine Tram

Franschhoek Wine Tram

🍇 Franschhoek Wine Tram - Blue Line

If you love wine, sunshine, and that feeling of “wow”, then the Franschhoek Wine Tram is pure magic. I spent a dreamy day hopping between vineyards on the Blue Line, and honestly — it might just be one of my favorite experiences in South Africa.

The Blue Line is known for its mix of boutique estates and big, beautiful wineries, plus some delicious pairings (chocolate, oysters, nougat — yes, please!). The tram-bus trundles through vineyards and open fields, with mountains on all sides. Every stop feels like a new little world.

You can hop off at any of the estates, do a tasting (or two), and hop back on an hour later when the tram circles back. It’s easy, relaxed, and perfectly paced for sipping and soaking in the views.

💕 My Fave stop - Rickety Bridge

The perfect ending and my personal favourite - Rickety Bridge is warm and lively — the wine is exquisite and the scenery is pretty special too.

By the time the tram rolled back into Franschhoek, the sun was dipping behind the mountains. My phone was full of photos, my heart was full of joy, and my head… well, full of wine. 😉

💡 Tips for a Perfect Day

• Start early – more time for tastings and sunshine!

• Book ahead, especially in summer (spots fill up fast).

• Choose one estate for lunch and two or three others for tastings.

• Bring water and a hat – the valley sun means business.

• Go with friends (or make some on the tram — super easy to do).

🌸 Final Thoughts

If you’re visiting the Cape Winelands, make this day happen. The Blue Line isn’t just about wine — it’s about slowing down, laughing more, and remembering how good it feels to just be.

Cheers to that. 🍷✨
