My Stay at Royal River Tenerife: A Little Slice of Paradise

There are some places you visit and enjoy, and then there are places that make you slow down, breathe a little deeper, and forget about everything waiting for you back home. For me, Royal River Luxury Hotel in Tenerife was definitely the latter.

From the moment I arrived, I had that feeling that I was somewhere special. Tucked away in the beautiful Costa Adeje area, Royal River felt completely different from the usual busy holiday resort. It was peaceful, private and incredibly elegant, while still having that relaxed feeling I look for when I‘m away.

First Impressions

The first thing that struck me was how beautiful the surroundings were. The hotel has a wonderfully tropical feel, with lush greenery, water features and beautiful architecture creating a sense of calm everywhere you look.

But what really stood out to me was the atmosphere. It didn't feel crowded or hectic. Instead, everything seemed designed to give you space to relax and enjoy your surroundings.

After travelling, there was something wonderful about being able to put my bags down and simply switch off.

The Villa Experience

One of the highlights of my stay was having my own private villa and pool.

Having that little bit of privacy completely changed the experience for me. Instead of heading down to a busy pool and searching for a sunbed, I could simply step outside and enjoy my own space whenever I wanted.

There was something incredibly relaxing about starting the morning with a coffee by the pool, listening to the water and enjoying the Tenerife sunshine.

It was the kind of luxury that didn't need to be flashy. It was all about having time and space to yourself.

Caleta – Perfect for a Wander

One of the things I particularly loved about the location was being so close to La Caleta.

It is a fabulous little spot to wander around, especially when you fancy getting out of the hotel for a change of scenery. There are lovely places to stroll, beautiful views and, of course, plenty of wonderful spots to stop for something to eat.

I really enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere of La Caleta. It has that lovely combination of feeling relaxed and special at the same time, making it perfect for a leisurely lunch, an evening meal or simply a wander with no particular destination in mind.

Sometimes, it's those unplanned little walks and meals that become some of the best memories of a holiday.

A Trip to Tide – Well Worth It

Another place I would definitely recommend adding to your Tenerife plans is Tide.

If you're staying at Royal River, make sure you take a trip there — it is well worth the visit.

It's another opportunity to step away from the villa for a little while and enjoy something different. Whether you're looking for great food, a lovely atmosphere or simply somewhere enjoyable to spend a few hours, Tide is a great addition to the trip.

For me, these little outings are what make a holiday feel complete. You can have all the luxury and relaxation you want at Royal River, but it's also lovely to get out and experience some of the other places that make this part of Tenerife so special.

Golf Right on the Doorstep

For golf lovers, the location is even more impressive.

Having a magnificent golf course right on the hotel's doorstep is a huge bonus. Even if you're not an avid golfer, the views and beautifully maintained surroundings add another dimension to the whole experience.

For anyone who loves combining a luxury getaway with a few rounds of golf, it would be hard to find a more convenient setting. You can enjoy the peace and luxury of Royal River while having the golf course practically on hand when you fancy something more active.

It really is the best of both worlds — relaxation when you want it and golf just moments away when you fancy picking up your clubs.

Food, Drinks and Slow Evenings

Of course, a big part of any holiday for me is the food, and Royal River didn't disappoint.

I loved being able to take my time over meals rather than feeling rushed. Breakfast became one of my favourite parts of the day, especially when I could sit outside and enjoy the warm Tenerife weather.

And with La Caleta and places such as Tide nearby, there are plenty of opportunities to head out and discover somewhere different for lunch or dinner.

Evenings were equally special. After spending the day exploring, playing golf or relaxing by the villa, sitting down with a drink and watching the evening unfold felt like the perfect way to finish the day.

There was no need to rush anywhere. That was one of the things I enjoyed most about staying here.

Tenerife Beyond the Hotel

Although Royal River made it very tempting to stay put all day, Tenerife itself was another reason I loved the trip.

Costa Adeje has a beautiful mix of beaches, restaurants and places to explore, while the island offers so much more if you want to venture further.

One day you can be relaxing beside the ocean, another you can be enjoying a round of golf, and later you can wander around La Caleta looking for somewhere lovely to eat or take a trip to Tide.

That combination of relaxation, good food, beautiful scenery and things to do is what makes this part of Tenerife so special.

Still, I have to admit that there were moments when I was perfectly happy doing absolutely nothing.

And perhaps that's the biggest compliment I can give Royal River.

Would I Go Back?

Absolutely.

Royal River is the sort of place I would choose for a special trip when I wanted to escape everyday life and properly recharge. The combination of a beautiful private villa, the magnificent golf course on the doorstep, La Caleta nearby and places like Tide to discover makes the location incredibly hard to beat.

Looking back, some of my favourite memories aren't even the big excursions or sightseeing trips. They're the quiet moments — sitting outside with a drink, enjoying the sunshine, listening to the water, wandering through La Caleta, enjoying a fantastic meal and discovering places like Tide.

Sometimes, that's what a holiday is really about.

And for me, Royal River Tenerife was exactly that: a little slice of paradise where I could slow down, switch off and simply enjoy being there.
