Dreams Corfu
My Trip to Dreams Corfu - May 2024 My flight was 3 hours and 10 minutes from East Midlands Airport. On arrival at Corfu, we went through passport control - this was fairly swift around 10 mins we were the only flight that had landed. The airport is very pleasant and extremely clean. The bags were already on the conveyor when we entered the arrivals hall. We swiftly found our driver and were taken straight to the hotel which took around 20 minutes. On arrival at the hotel, we were greeted with cold towels and taken through to the restaurant for lunch, whilst they took our passports and checked us in - so a great first impression.
The hotel re-opened last year after a full renovation - this hotel was formerly the Corcyra Beach. The setting is stunning with a beautiful backdrop of the coastline and mountains and so peaceful. After lunch, we were escorted to our room which was the lead-in room type set in a block near the main pool area - it was quiet and the rooms were all decorated much the same with a very calming colour palate. They had a kettle and a nespresso machine which was topped up - we had a mini fridge with water, beer and cans of pop in it. Fluffy towels, bathrobes and slippers were provided and an umbrella as we were a short walk from the main building. All the rooms had a walk-in shower, free safe and toiletries. All Rooms have an iPad where you can look at the menus in all the restaurants and book, you can look at activities and times it has a lot of information about the hotel too.
Dreams Corfu is set out like a village, you have the main building where they have the family rooms and some of the restaurants including the buffet restaurant - this always had something you could eat and was not too big and the choices were great - from chicken to pork loin, seafood etc They also had a selection for vegan and gluten-free.
The ‘Nafsika Building‘ is the preferred club where you will find 8 swim-up rooms - these pools are heated and shared. The main pool is heated here too. They also have bungalows dotted about the grounds which are either garden views or sea views - these were in a lovely setting overlooking the beautiful views out to sea. The hotel also has family rooms which are 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms for families who want some space. They also have 5 adapted rooms. For guests not in the preferred club you have 2 pools the smaller infinity one near the beach is heated and popular with families and there are 2 restaurants here too. The larger main pool (not heated) has fountains and a swim-up bar with a terrace overlooking the pool area There are plenty of sunbeds around the main part of the pool. The Italian restaurant is here which we managed to eat in once and it was great for lunch, pizza, pasta, fries etc there is a bar here too with waiter service around the pool for the drinks. There are 4 A la Carte Restaurants - we found as it was early in the season and they are outdoors they weren‘t all open or just for lunch only. In the main season though they will be open fully. There are children‘s and teens clubs and a large outdoor stage area for entertainment with lots of seating. The beaches at the hotel are man-made but still lovely and the beach bar played music quietly so it was just background and not loud thumping tunes. We used to go to the quieter beach. You can access the sea easily as they have steps from the sea wall into it - it is very shallow so no issues getting in and out. There was a separately run watersports area here too... The hotel is beautiful the service was amazing - we found all staff to be accommodating and friendly in all areas of the hotel. We used the concierge service for help with booking taxis, and where to get the bus into Corfu Town and they really couldn't do enough for you.
