Janet Connolly

Hello, my name is Janet Connolly and I live in Royton and I also spend lots of time in my second home at La Cala De Mijas in Malaga which my happy place eating good food and fine tuning my Spanish language.

Travel is my passion; I thrive on new adventures and Hotels are my playground. I started my early career working in Hotels in Manchester, I then spread my wings to work with a Hotel Marketing company for 25 years where I lived in Singapore, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Shanghai , Argentina, Guatemala & Columbia. My clients were all the major 4- & 5-star hotels across Asia Pacific & South America.

Having travelled extensively to over 80 countries for many years I returned to Manchester for 2 years where I headed the Portland Direct Call Centre before its relocation to Glasgow. I then went on to set up TUI’s first .com Call Centre- The First Resort, which started with 15 agents and grew to 150 Call Centre Travel agents handling Sun, Sea & Ski.

The sand dunes of the Gulf called me again to Dubai as a VP of Operations working with Hotels where I was based for over 10 years. My role expanded to China, based out of Shanghai travelling to over 30 city’s in China and extensively in Asia Pacific including Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand , Indonesia and Australasia.

My most recent travel adventure was working with Forbes Luxury Travel Guide supporting luxury hotels across the Middle East throughout the United Arab Emirates Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait & Qatar.
