Star Gazing in Northern Tenerife from Paradores Las Canadas del Teide

Paradores Las Cañadas del Teide is a unique hotel within the Teide National Park on the island of Tenerife in Spain, where I stayed for 1 night. The Parador is located at the base of Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain, providing stunning views of the volcano and its surroundings. It is set within the Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its dramatic volcanic landscapes, unique flora and fauna, and clear skies ideal for stargazing. The hotel can arrange astronomy sessions for its guests, as I experienced. This is truly an amazing experience.

The location is perfect for various outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and nature walks, with numerous hiking and walking trails directly from the Parador. The hotel offers a range of 37 comfortable rooms with modern amenities, many of which offer stunning views of the Teide and Tenerife‘s surrounding landscape.

You can take a cable car ride up Mount Teide to enjoy panoramic views from the summit, this must be pre-booked. Facilities include a restaurant serving traditional Canarian cuisine, a bar ( well priced) a lounge, a covered swimming pool open between 0900-1900, and a sauna.
