Porto has to be one of the best city breaks I have ever been on! From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. With a quick flight from London and a short transfer into the city, it‘s a wonderfully easy destination for a few days away. Plus, next year we will be able to offer you flights from Bournemouth!

🏨 Staying at PortoBay Flores

We stayed at PortoBay Flores,s a beautiful boutique hotel in a fantastic central location, perfect for exploring the city on foot.

The service was exceptional, with so many thoughtful little touches that really made our stay memorable. We were welcomed with a complimentary drinks voucher, and each evening we returned to homemade cookies waiting in our room. 🍪

It‘s those extra details that make a hotel stand out, and PortoBay Flores certainly got it right. The combination of charm, comfort and genuinely attentive service made it a real highlight of the trip.

🍷 Port, food and the magic of Porto

A visit to Porto wouldn't be complete without discovering its famous port wine heritage, so we enjoyed a tour at Graham's Port Lodge. It was a lovely opportunity to learn more about the history and traditions behind one of Portugal's most famous exports.

We spent hours wandering the beautiful streets, soaking up the atmosphere and finding ourselves mesmerised by the incredibly talented street performers and buskers. 🎶 There seemed to be something wonderful around every corner!

Of course, we also enjoyed some fabulous food and drink. From relaxed meals to a glass of port, the city is full of opportunities to enjoy Portugal's wonderful cuisine and welcoming culture. Plus, the Douro River was absolutely stunning in June!

💙 Would I recommend Porto?

Without hesitation! Porto has charm in abundance, beautiful architecture, a fascinating history and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Add in the delicious food, fantastic wine and warm Portuguese hospitality, and it's easy to see why I fell in love with it.

PortoBay Flores was the perfect base, and the thoughtful service and little surprises made the experience even more special.
