PORTUGAL IN STYLE CHARMING PORTO, COSMOPOLITAN LISBON & A TASTE OF REGENT LUXURY

I‘ve just returned from a fabulous few days exploring the captivating cities of Porto and Lisbon, and what a trip it was!

From the rich culture and winding streets of Portugal’s north to the sun-drenched charm of its vibrant capital, this journey blended city breaks, boutique luxury, and a generous dash of cruise ship indulgence.

**First Stop: Picture-Perfect Porto**

We began our adventure in Porto, a city that instantly captures your heart with its colourful riverside, cobbled streets, and laid-back elegance. Our base was the gorgeous Vinha Boutique Hotel, nestled on the banks of the Douro River. This hotel is a true hidden gem—sophisticated, serene, and full of character, with impeccable service and stunning river views. It also has its pier for catching a water taxi to Porto’s city centre.

Porto is ideal for wandering, whether you're sipping port in the historic cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia or exploring the stunning architecture of the Ribeira district. It’s a city that knows how to charm.

**A Taste of Ultra-Luxury Onboard Seven Seas Grandeur and Navigator**

A true highlight of this trip was the opportunity to step aboard two of Regent Seven Seas’ ultra-luxury ships, the Seven Seas Grandeur and the Seven Seas Navigator. I was lucky enough to enjoy a private tour and a sumptuous lunch on board, and I have to say, these ships really do live up to the hype.

The Grandeur is nothing short of breathtaking. From her elegant design and curated artwork to her spacious suites and exceptional service, it’s clear that this is a ship designed for those who appreciate the finer things in life. Lunch was exquisite, as you’d expect from Regent's fine dining that rivals top restaurants on land, paired with impeccable wine and ocean views.

The Navigator, slightly smaller in scale but equally luxurious, offers a wonderfully relaxed and refined atmosphere. Both ships provide an all-inclusive, ultra-personalised experience that’s perfect for discerning travellers who want everything taken care of, with no compromises.

**Lisbon**

We travelled south to Lisbon, where we stayed at the Corinthia Lisbon, a contemporary five-star property offering excellent facilities, spacious rooms, and an unbeatable location for exploring the city. The spa and rooftop views were a welcome bonus after days of sightseeing.

For something a little different, we hopped aboard a tuk-tuk tour, zipping through Lisbon’s hills and narrow alleys with a local guide. It was a fun and authentic way to discover the city’s history and hidden corners, from panoramic viewpoints over Alfama to colourful tiled facades and historic landmarks. I highly recommend this if you want a mix of culture, fun, and local insight without wearing out your feet!

**Final Thoughts**

This trip was the perfect blend of cultural discovery, relaxed luxury, and a taste of cruising at its finest. Whether you’re dreaming of a Portuguese city break or want to explore Europe in style aboard a Regent Seven Seas voyage, there’s something here for every luxury traveller.
