 Peru is a country located in western South America. It is home to a diverse range of cultures, landscapes, and attractions. One of the most popular places to visit is the famous Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley ancient Inca ruins, there are so many ways to get to see this amazing place, Discovered in 1911 by the US explorer Hiram Bingham.

People always ask what Machu Picchu means the answer is OLD MOUNTAIN.

You can go Hiking Inca Trail you can do this in small groups or private group tour with expert guides these take around 4 days and 3 nights some great trekking routes along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu you can take.

Train So you do not have the time or fitness to go hiking? Then let the train take the strain sit back and see the amazing views and site the train takes around one-and-a-half hours to four-and-half- hours one way departing Cusco or Sacred Valley, The journey involves taking a comfortable train journey to Agua Calientes, a mountain town close to the site. From there, you will need to take a bus ride up to Machu Picchu site itself. The length of the journey depends on which train station you go from you will find plenty of time to explore the site in one day.

So why not combine Machu Picchu with other highlights through Peru and the rest of South America like a trip Lake Titcaca, Amazon Rainforest, Ecuador and the Galapagos Island. Where ever you pick it will offer you outstanding history and culture, not forgetting the beautiful beaches and natural landscapes not forgetting the vibrant food and music scenes where you will only want to dance you will find vibrant festival and events like the Inti Raymi which is a traditional religious ceremony of the Inca Empire and the Cusco Carnival which is in February and March when carnivals and celebrations begin and this carnival is one of the best known in Peru drawing visitors from around the world full of colour variety of dances, yunzas ( popular festival celebrated during carnival involving planting a tree and decorating it with ribbons to later cut it down with an ax to music and dancing ) colorful flour games, water, foam, balloons so time of fun.

So in Peru ther are lots to do you will have to make many visits to cover all visiting the Colca Canyon, exploring the Peruvian Amazon, experiencing the local cuisine and music, and visiting the beaches along the Pacific coast. Whole range of adventure sports such as rafting, kayaking, and paragliding. 

This is a must do Lake Titicaca it is a large, deep lake located in the Andes Mountains on the border of Bolivia and Peru. They say it is the highest navigable lake in the world, and is a popular destination for tourists. The must do things in Lake Titicaca are a visit to the floating islands of the Uros people, they have lived on the lake for many centuries. It is amazing the Uros people build their islands using totora reeds, which they also use to make their homes and boats. 

You can take a boat tour of the lake and visit the islands of Taquile and Amantani. These islands are home to indigenous communities who all maintain all the traditional ways of life and welcome you to learn about their culture. A must visit to the town of Puno, located on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Puno is known for its colonial architecture and lively markets, a place you can buy handmade crafts and try local lots of dishes. 

You can explore the ruins of Sillustani, an ancient burial ground located on the shores of the lake. The burial towers, known as chullpas, is a very impressive sight and offer insight into the cultures that once lived in the area so full of history.
