Paralos Irini Mare is a family-run property with a huge emphasis on being Eco-Friendly Luxury, providing Farm to Table Cuisine (which is simply divine! ) and authentic Cretan hospitality. Antonis and his Sister met me with open arms and the most delicious refreshing drink of Malotira, a Cretan Mountain Tea and Honey, provided by their very own family bees.

Instantly, I felt relaxed and part of the family!

The accommodation, which has been recently renovated and new buildings added, is spread across beautifully landscaped gardens which feature herbs and a vegetable garden that supply the hotel’s produce, whilst the hotel buildings and facilities blend perfectly with nature with their colouring and using trees and natural pergolas as shade. It is just like the Garden of Eden, and the Zen Zone quite zones offers additional peace and chill time we all crave.

There are various room types to choose from, some with shared swim-up pools and others with your Private Pool. From next year, a Star Sleep Rooftop Suite with Sea Views will be available with an external staircase to an exclusive rooftop equipped with a comfy bed, outdoor shower and seating area.

The hotel features yoga and pilates sessions on the lawn, painting classes with local artists, wine tasting and gastronomic experiences, and offers one of the best places in Crete for a Sundowner at the Galini Bar.

Before my recent visit to Crete, Paralos was not a name that was known to me. I was, however, wowed by all 4 properties I visited.
