Exclusive Luxury
Exclusive Luxury
Are you longing for that Exclusive Island Getaway without having to travel for 12 hours plus or stand around in airports connecting on tiny planes to that far flung place? Do you dream of having this, but rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous (only if you want to of course) and being absolutely spoilt rotten with unparalleled luxury? Yes? Then you need to visit Jumby Bay.
The 300-Acre Private Island, just 2 miles off the coast of Antigua is a reasonable 8 hour flight from the UK. You are met from the flight and whisked by luxury chauffeur driven car to the port, to board the Resort’s Private Luxury Yacht, within 15 minutes of the airport you are met by a beaming welcoming smile and you have arrived in a Luxurious Paradise. Myself and husband had just married in The Caribbean and decided that this exclusive island would be the ultimate way to top off our Wedding and Honeymoon experience. We were not wrong!!
The Staff .... just Wow, they could not do more for you. We sat at the bar whilst being checked in and Kanto mixed us up a Rum Cocktail with exotic fruits... Wow, the perfect measures...The start of a perfect holiday!
Jumby Bay had recently been refurbished under new management of Oetker Collection and all of the rooms decorated in a modern Caribbean Style with High Ceilings, Painted White with Pale Blue soft furnishings, giving a fresh light and breezy feel. The Island is totally car free giving that desert island ambience to it and being away from the norm. If walking is not on the agenda this holiday a golf Buggy will ferry you to and from your Suite with Private Terrace and Garden or Luxurious Villa with Private Pool, Butler and Chef, and you also have bikes should you wish to explore the Island at your own pace.
The very generous All Inclusive, which includes house Tattinger Champagne, offers a wide range of dining options with sophisticated a la carte meals that can be taken at the Estate House or more casual lunches and evening meals on the Veranda with grilled seafood bursting with Caribbean flavours and delicious cocktails. Romantic candlelit meals on the beach or picnic hampers to find your own exclusive area can all be enjoyed here. The Island Farm grows the fruit and vegetables on your plate and the catch of the day you may have seen being caught that morning. We enjoyed my birthday in The Estate House where, gosh if Scarlett Johansen had been sitting next to me, I would have been made to feel more Special!
Despite being a small island the opportunities of activities are endless, and apart from the obvious beach combing and soaking up paradise in a hammock, there are also 3 swimming pools, tennis courts, a fitness centre, daily yoga classes, and a water-sports centre offering a variety of equipment. Day trips on yachts to outer deserted islands for a picnic, snorkelling, kayaking, sailing, paddle-boarding, water-skiing, and enjoying sunset cruises are all options to enjoy. I have to say the sunset cruise should not be missed.
The Island is the perfect place for families too and children will love the movie nights under the stars and the Kids Club with a range of activities to keep them busy, giving Mummy and Daddy time to enjoy the Spa and relax.
I am yet to top my stay at Jumby Bay...My little slice of Heaven on Earth...the Perfect Honeymoon.
I only wish I could post more photos of my time on here for you...I guess you will have to check it out for yourself...I will just leave you with one where the magic starts.
