Jamaica "Yeh Man"!

Jamaica "Yeh Man"!

On Friday 12th May 2017, I flew with many of my colleagues to Jamaica on our annual "top sellers" Conference weekend from Gatwick.

We stayed at the Half Moon Bay in Montego Bay and groups of between 9 – 16 of us shared their private “Villas at Half Moon” each of which had their own pool.

During our stay in Jamaica we were lucky enough to do take the excursion to Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios which was around a 1.5-hour drive from Montego Bay and a fabulous fun filled day climbing the falls with a stop on the way back for a late lunch at one of Jamaica’s famous “Scotchies” restaurants to sample traditional Jamaica food such as “jerk chicken”.

There was a vast range of “other excursions” that were on offer for my various colleagues on the Jamaica trip and these were: Good Hope Estate: The largest activity hub on the island choose from river tubbing, quad biking, zip wiring or laze by the pool. Rose Hall Great House: Visit the Rose Hall Great House to see plantation splendour and learn of a tale of love and murder and black magic. Mystic Mountain: Ride the Sky Explorer to the Mystic Mountain then ride the reggae bobsled down. Turf and Surf: Horseback ride and a swim with the horses. Or you could play a round of golf which for us was at the nearby Hyatt Hotel.

I was also lucky enough to visit various hotels during the few days we had there I was shown around the Secrets St James Resort and Secrets Wild Orchid two neighbouring sister hotels in the same location in Montego Bay and the newly opened Breathless Montego bay Resort and Spa too which was amazing esp. the swim up suites with private jacuzzi on the terrace, all three hotels of which are “adult only” properties.

We enjoyed a hosted evening event at the Half Moon Bay, an open-air meal at Sandals on the beach complete with disco and hotel dancers/entertainers, we were also lucky enough to enjoy a fabulous themed “White and Gold night” at the Secrets Resorts too and an amazing last night at the Round Hill Resort and Villas and had a drinks reception and presentation in one of their fabulous seafront Premium luxury villas.

The only downside to our trip was that the weather on the 4 nights we were there wasn’t that kind to us, the rainfall was high, more so than is usual for that time of year and the mosquitos were out in a vengeance!

My only regret with Jamaica is that I wasn’t able to spend more time there exploring this fabulous island and enjoying the better weather that my colleagues had who arrived a few days earlier. Jamaica, I will be back one day!
