GF Gran Costa Adeje- Tenerife

GF Gran Costa Adeje- Tenerife

Iā€˜ve just (April) come back from a lovely stay at the GF Gran Costa Adeje- this is a 5-star hotel in Costa Adeje, Tenerife
The reviews are always great on this hotel and my blog is just the same.
Location-wise- it's in Costa Adeje, about a 15-minute walk to the front where the beach is(downhill)so bear this in mind if you have walking difficulties, I had my parents with me and they ended up getting a taxi back to avoid the aching knees! There are several higher-end shops, supermarkets and restaurants, bars, and cafes within a 5-10 mins walk (flat) by the hotel so you don't need to venture downhill if you don't want to. The hotel itself was perfect for multi-generational families (mine family is between 12-87yrs)
They had entertainment in the pool daily (aqua gym), inflatable once a week, kids club, evening low-key entertainment (music, singers, magic shows etc) mini golf, football, and endless pool tables which my kids loved every night, and table tennis. The pool area was big enough, hotel policy does not allow sunbed reservations before 10 am, and they remove belongings and towels if anyone does there and aren't at the beds (big positive for me) 2 pools, one heated and the other not but still people in it! They also have wheelchair access within the hotel, ramps, lifts and enough space for them in the restaurants and communical areas.
The food was outstanding, we couldn't fault any meal. We were Half Board, breakfast a few times had English bacon and sausages which was a bonus, evening meal varied but with vegetables each night, always had a show cooking daily and pasta, pizza station and catered well for allergies. (Kids are only in peak times) The all-inclusive package is worth considering if you're not leaving the hotel (depending on the supplement) beers ā‚¬5, vodka ā‚¬7, cocktails ā‚¬9 and soft drinks ā‚¬3-ā‚¬4. As mentioned before there is a supermarket a few minutes away to grab snacks etc (this wasn't stopped in the hotel) They give you water daily and tea/coffee on request.
My kids (12/15/17) didn't do any of the kid's clubs but every day they said what was going on, and the evening mini disco was kept away from the main evening entertainment. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms were spacious and cleaned well. They have great sustainability too, no plastics within the hotel and only change bedding and towels when you leave a sign to do so.
We had a great time. The price point for this 5-star is always really good and I'd return if I wanted a decent hotel/food and entertainment. The heated pool in winter is also a massive hit with kids.
The location would be fine generally for those who like to wander out of the hotel and don't mind a slow walk back up an incline. We went during the Easter holidays and it wasn't overrun with kids which is what we wanted, but there is enough to keep them busy without feeling like you're lacking in a decent hotel
