As many of you already know, I now live full-time in Italy with my husband Jonny, who works out here. One of the best things about my job is the flexibility it gives me, I can work from anywhere in the world, and that’s allowed me to soak up as much of Italy as possible over the past few years… and I’m still not done!

Whether it’s a city I’ve visited five times or a new town I’ve just discovered, Italy never gets old, there’s always something new to fall in love with.

🏡 Life in Faenza – My Little Italian Base

We’re based in the charming town of Faenza in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. It’s not only a lovely place to live with cobbled streets, cute cafés, and that classic Italian pace of life, it’s also brilliantly located for travel.

One of our favourite spots here is Casa Spadoni, with its restaurant and pool, it’s our go-to for chilled weekends. The food is always amazing and there’s a real buzz in the evenings too.

From Faenza, I can hop on a train and easily get to so many major destinations, Bologna is just 30 minutes away, Florence and Venice are also within easy reach, and even the coast isn’t far. It’s the perfect base for exploring all corners of the country.

• Cesenatico & Rimini – Where the locals go for a relaxed beach day
• Verona & Pisa – Beautiful for short breaks or stopovers
• Imola – A dream come true for any F1 fan (I’ve even had a behind-the-scenes tour at the Racing Bulls factory!)

And the best part? I’ve explored many of these by train, Italy’s rail network is affordable, reliable, and so easy to navigate. It’s one of the best ways to see more of this beautiful country without the stress of driving.
