Morocco - Intrepid Tour
Just returned from the first Designer Journeys Trip of this year with Intrepid taking in the sights of Marrakech, Atlas Mountains and the beautiful desert of Agafay
This was a 4 Night/5 Day Trip
First day in Morocco with Intrepid! ✨ Explored the vibrant Marrakech Medina and its bustling souks—such an incredible mix of sights, sounds, and scents! Visited the beautiful Secret Garden, a peaceful oasis hidden in the heart of the city. Had a delicious lunch at Amal Restaurant, a wonderful non-profit supporting women from disadvantaged backgrounds. Now settling into Riad 48, a beautiful hidden gem that feels like a retreat from the city‘s energy.
Day 2 In Morocco 🇲🇦 🌿 A Culinary & Cultural Adventure in Morocco 🇲🇦✨ After a scenic drive, we joined a cooking class with a renowned local chef in a breathtaking Amazigh douar. Nestled among olive groves and orchards, his organic kitchen garden provides the freshest ingredients for our culinary journey. 🌱🍋 From handpicking herbs to mastering the art of Moroccan seasoning, we learned to craft traditional tagines and vibrant salads—then sit down to enjoy the delicious feast we’ve prepared! 🍲🥗 In the afternoon, we visited a project close to our hearts: Education For All. This incredible initiative provides boarding houses for girls in rural Morocco, giving them access to education and a brighter future. 💙📚 A day filled with food, culture, and meaningful impact—what could of been better?
Day 3 in Morocco 🇲🇦 🌄 Morning Adventure in the High Atlas Mountains 🌿 Spent the morning on a breathtaking half-day hike deep into the stunning landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains. Navigated boulders, crags, and running streams, passing through charming Imazighen villages along the way—greeting friendly locals as they went about their daily routines. The serene beauty of the mountains felt like stepping into a world untouched by time. After the hike, we were welcomed into a local family's guesthouse for a delicious home-cooked meal. Learned the secrets of Moroccan cuisine, from baking traditional bread to brewing the perfect cup of tea. A truly unforgettable experience of culture, nature, and warm hospitality!
Day 4 in Morocco ✨🇲🇦 Started the day in the breathtaking Atlas Mountains before making the 2-hour journey to Yes We Camps Agafay, a stunning luxury retreat in the heart of the desert. Settled into our beautiful tent accommodation and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon after a delicious lunch. Later, we embarked on a 40-minute camel ride, taking in the golden hues of the desert at sunset. Ended the evening with a three-course traditional meal, complete with live entertainment—an unforgettable night under the stars!
Day 5: Morocco – Heading Home Our incredible journey in Morocco comes to an end today. This country has been nothing short of amazing, with breathtaking landscapes and rich culture at every turn. We had an early start from Agafay, making our way through the desert to Marrakech as the sun painted the sky with stunning colors—an unforgettable farewell to this beautiful place. A quick travel tip for anyone flying out of Marrakech: the airport recommends arriving at least 3 hours before your flight due to multiple security checks and long queues. Be sure to allow plenty of time to avoid any stress.
