Artfully simple, elegantly sophisticated, and supremely relaxing, this is a lovely villa in the heart of Corfu’s uncrowded north-eastern corner. ‘Zografia’ means a painting, and the views from the sunny terraces and stylish rooms really are picture perfect, the sapphire blue of Soukia Bay flanked by sheltering headlands. A large infinity pool takes prime position out on the terrace, with a dining pergola at the poolside and a covered veranda forming an al fresco living room. From here a window wall leads into the house, where an airy sitting room is furnished in soft shades of blue, a romantic chandelier hangs from the raftered ceiling, and the adjoining dining area leads through to a smart galley kitchen. There are two bedrooms on this floor, a master double on the floor above, with a modern four-poster and private balcony, and a guest suite on the lower floor with its own sitting room. From Zografia’s quiet setting a rough path leads you to a beach with a boat mooring and tavernas at Avlaki just a ten minute walk away. Guests staying at Villa Zografia benefit from concierge service and breakfast service.
