Huka Lodge

This multi-award winning lodge was first founded as a simple tented fishing lodge back in the 1920's and is now a prestigious Relais & Chateaux property. Huka Lodge is set in 17 acres of beautiful countryside just 300 metres upstream from the Huka Falls and a 10-minute drive from Taupo.

There's a wealth of activities to choose from including trout fishing, helicopter rides, scenic boat cruises, horse riding, kayaking, white water rafting and hiking. Golfers will appreciate the close proximity to Wairakei International Golf Course which is just a 5-minute drive away.

The lodge has three outdoor pools - one large and two which are smaller and more private. There's also a tennis court, library, terrace and massage services. Guests can self-tour the magnificent garden which is ranked as a 'Garden of National Significance' and guided tours to other gardens of interest within the area can be organised on request.

Dining is first-class with hearty country breakfasts, casual dining and gourmet seasonal cuisine on offer. Romantic indoor and outdoor private dining venues are also available.

Junior Lodge Suites

There are 18 Junior Lodge Suites which each face the Waikato River and have French doors opening onto a wooden terrace. The bathrooms have a deep bath, heated floor and twin basins.

Lodge Suite

The Lodge Suite has a bedroom with super king size bed or twin beds, a walk-through dressing room and en-suite bathroom. The connecting room offers a well-appointed lounge with gas fireplace and dining area plus and en-suite bathroom. French doors open out to an outdoor wooden terrace and views across the lawn to the river.

Owner's Cottage

This delightful cottage has four en-suite guest rooms, a central living room, dining area, kitchen and den. There's also a large outdoor deck, a heated spa pool and outdoor furniture.

Alan Pye Cottage

Alan Pye Cottage boasts two large, stylish suites with individual fireplaces, en-suite bathrooms and walk-through dressing rooms. The cottage also has an open plan living room, well-equipped kitchen, study, private courtyard garden, heated infinity-style swimming pool and a separate private spa pool.
