Argos in Cappadocia

Argos in Cappadocia

A timeless hideaway carved from history

Set in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage landscape, Argos in Cappadocia is a rare sanctuary where ancient heritage, natural beauty and understated luxury come together. Formed over millions of years by volcanic peaks and sculpted by wind, rain and snow, Cappadocia is a mystical world of carved valleys, underground cities and soaring rock formations. It is a land shaped by the Hittites, Romans, Byzantines and Seljuks, a place where winemaking was born, where monks once lived in silence, and where tradition still whispers through every stone.

Argos sits at the foot of Uçhisar Castle, surrounded by thousands of cave dwellings, hidden tunnels and historic ruins. Here, views stretch across the Güvercinlik Valley toward the majestic silhouette of Mount Erciye,s creating a setting that feels both ancient and awe-inspiring. The hotel honours the soulful character of Anatolia while offering a serene haven for today’s modern traveller.

A Masterpiece of Restoration and Design

Born from the meticulous restoration of a thousand-year-old monastery and an abandoned village, Argos in Cappadocia blends cultural preservation with contemporary elegance. What began as a dream in 1996 became a 14-year labour of love, transforming historic ruins into aworld-classs boutique retreat.

Today, the hotel features 71 rooms and suites spread across nine stone mansions on a tranquil hillside. Each space is uniquely carved into rock, framed by hand-hewn stone, and enriched with timeless details that honour local craftsmanship. Earthy tones, Anatolian rugs, handcrafted furniture and recycled wood accents create a warm, grounding atmosphere that feels both authentic and refined.

The entire estate spans 15 acres, ensuring privacy, tranquillity and an extraordinary sense of place. Argos stands as a leading example of sustainable rural transformation, preserving cultural heritage while giving it new life.

A Living Museum of Anatolia

Every corner of Argos tells a story. The architecture carries the signatures of Seljuk design, ancient agricultural relics and traditional embroideries. Gardens bloom with aromatic herbs and native plants. Hoopoes, pigeons and nightingales echo through the air.

Guests can explore one of Türkiye’s largest natural underground wine cellars, carved deep beneath the earth, where winemaking traditions trace back to the Hittites. Here, volcanic soil enriches the local grapes used in Nahita Dokya wines, offering an unforgettable taste of Cappadocia’s terroir.

The hotel’s organic gardens stretch into the valley, supplying fresh produce for its culinary venues. At Sek, i meaning “terraces on the slopes”, guests savour flavours of Anatolia served with panoramic views. Nahita offers a gastronomic journey inspired by ancient traditions, served on a terrace that opens toward the timeless beauty of Mount Erciyes.

Where Luxury is Woven Into History

Argos in Cappadocia is more than a hotel,l it is an experience that shifts with the seasons.
