Snowmobile Voyager

On the 17th of February 2024, I embarked on a 4-night Snowmobile Voyage to Finland‘s Lapland. Flying from Bristol to Enontekio, a small airport, we transferred to the Tundrea Resort in Kilpisjarvi. Our apartment by the lake was cozy, with a sauna and a 5-minute walk to amenities. The package included full board, offering delightful meals, and 4 excursions. Saturday evening, we explored the resort, capturing enchanting photos of the elusive Northern lights. Sunday morning, we visited a local Reindeer Camp, learning about Sami traditions and enjoying a sleigh ride. In the evening, a Northern Lights snowmobile adventure took us through the arctic tundra, unfortunately obscured by heavy snow, we enjoyed a hot berry juice and cake in one of the huts with a lit fire to keep us warm. Monday offered a free morning, where we indulged in a jacuzzi and sauna by the lake, and bravely took on the ice hole challenge. The day continued with a snowy adventure, including making snow angels,sledging & deep snow walking that evening we had a Northern light trek through the forest. Tuesday started with a hearty buffet breakfast, leading to a 3-border snowmobiling safari, traversing frozen lakes and forests, covering Sweden, Finland, and Norway in less than a minute. The day ended with a sauna, souvenirs, and a delightful 3-course meal. Tips for the trip included bringing snacks, tea and coffee , a towel, water shoes for the ice hole challenge, and battery packs. Essential items like balaclava, mitts, sunglasses, and swimwear for the jacuzzi were recommended. A Wednesday morning breakfast concluded our memorable journey as we boarded the coach for our flight home, leaving with fond memories of an enchanting Lapland experience.
