Hi, I‘m Julie Franklin – your Designer Travel Expert.

This year I'm celebrating 40 years in the travel industry, a career that began on the high street as a travel agent and later took me into senior roles with well-known tour operators including Travelsphere, Mark Warner and Inghams. After four decades of helping people explore the world, I've returned to what I love most: designing holidays that truly fit your dreams, needs and personality.

I've been fortunate to travel extensively, immersing myself in cultures across Borneo, Vietnam, Japan, India, Nepal, Qatar, Dubai, China, Singapore, Australia and more. Closer to home, I've explored Switzerland, Norway, the Greek Islands, Austria, Italy, mainland Spain and the Balearics, Portugal and many other European gems. These experiences allow me to give you honest insight, personal recommendations and inspiration you simply won't find online.

Whether you're an outdoor enthusiast dreaming of a walking holiday in the Alps, a family ski trip or a summer of watersports and tennis, I thrive on creating active, energising breaks that match your pace. I'm equally passionate about winter magic – from enchanting Santa experiences in Lapland to snowmobiling, husky sledding and nights in an ice hotel, these are the kinds of trips that stay with people forever.

For those who simply need to breathe again, I specialise in wellbeing breaks that genuinely restore – whether that's a peaceful spa retreat or a destination where nature does the healing. And if you're dreaming of the open water, I can help you navigate the world of cruising, from intimate river journeys and ocean voyages to once-in-a-lifetime expedition cruises to places like Antarctica. Solo travel is something I hold particularly close to my heart. Whether you prefer to travel independently or alongside a like-minded group, I understand the emotions that come with journeying alone – especially as a recent widow myself. Travel can be healing, empowering and full of wonderful discovery. Solo really doesn't have to mean alone.
