Rhodes Town combination of old and new.

Rhodes Town combination of old and new.

I had the pleasure of visiting one of the southern Greek Island - Rhodes in July A pretty medieval town with its narrow, cobbled streets,  plenty of shops and a huge selection of Greek tavernas and wonderful fish restaurants.  During my visit we found a fabulous fish restaurant called "Nirease" - traditional fish taverna set back from the main square with a great atmosphere, sat underneath the stars listening to the local guitar singer. Excellent prices, fresh fish "catch of the day" and gorgeous mezze!!! Highly recommend to book in advance, very popular with locals. Rhodes Town is a great base to explore the wonderful Island; boat trips to the beautiful resort of Lindos with its dazzling white washed houses nestled on a hillside; offering views across to the acropolis. Also you can visit Turkey/Marmaris on a boat trip - shopping paradise.  I would recommend Rhodes for all ages groups for the following reasons: 300 days of sunshine a year, stunning beaches, old and new of Rhodes town, pretty village of Lindos, and a huge selection of greek traditional restaurants. You can combine sightseeing with beaches and great scenery. We stayed at the luxury resort of the Atrium Platinum Hotel, Rhodes offers a variety of hotels. Direct flights from all UK airports; flying time approx 4 hours
