Marrakech - October Half Term Winter Sunshine

On Saturday 19th October my family and I flew out to Marrakech in Morocco for our October half term getaway.

We had chosen a family resort style hotel around twenty minutes outside the city of Marrakech at the 4* Iberostar Club Palmeraie Marrakech.

The hotel appealed to us as a family because many of the rooms are interconnecting which meant we were able to have two rooms and two bathrooms and two balconies giving us a lot more space.

The hotel is set in fabulous grounds and has an abundance of amenities with 3 pools (including one children’s pool and one adult only pool as well as the main pool) plus a mini-farm, two restaurants various bars, tennis courts, volleyball, football, basketball, bicycle spin classes, a small running track and a trapeze to name but a few.

The hotel and grounds were spotless, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and genuinely couldn’t do enough for you.

During our weeks stay there we were invited to a “managers cocktail party" plus a themed “white party” which were both fabulous, with free drinks, canapes and entertainment.

The resident dancers/entertainment team were fabulous with regular themed day time and evening entertainment, which our two girls aged 8 and 12 both loved.

During our stay we took the courtesy bus into Marrakech Medina area, to enjoy all the amazing sighs and sounds, crazy streets and roads, horse drawn caleches, spice souks, henna tattoo parlours, apple tea, Cobra snake charming, monkeys, livestock and Fez hats to name but a few – I genuinely felt that I was on the set of a “James Bond” film!

It really was a fabulous “cultural eye opener” for our girls.

The hotel ran a regular courtesy bus free of charge several times a day to and from the Marrakech Medina area.

The hotel were also able to facilitate activities such as quad biking and excursions such as day trips into the Atlas mountains or longer Atlas mountains or desert stays.

We were blessed with warm sunny days, with temperatures as warm as 32 degrees some days, which is great for the end of October.

I would definitely return to this hotel and Marrakech with my family, or as a couple or with friends.
