Luxury Barbados

Luxury Barbados

Barbados, the easternmost island in the Caribbean, is renowned for its stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and rich history. Whether looking for a luxurious beach getaway, exploring local traditions, or an active adventure, this island offers something for everyone. Whilst on the island, we managed to see England v West Indies at the Kennington Oval in Bridgetown. This was an amazing day out and highly recommend it to anyone interested in the sport. This was a first for me. Another highlight of our trip was taking the reggae bus along the coast. They are super cheap (around £1.30 per trip) and run regularly. A fun and cheap way to see the island. If you staying on the West Coast, a visit to Holetown is a must too, with lots of little boutique shops and cafes. Holetown is also home to popular restaurants such as Tides, Mews, and Paul Owen. The Lone Star was just along from where we stayed, which is also the go-to place to eat. However, we also liked to relax in some of the beach bars scattered along the beaches.

We stayed at the 5* Fairmont Royal Pavilion which is located in Saint James Parish, on the island‘s renowned West Coast, famous for its calm, turquoise waters and white sand beaches. The resort‘s location allows guests to enjoy spectacular ocean views. Holetown is just a 5-minute drive and Bridgetown is a little further, 20 minutes.

The luxurious 75 rooms, suites, and villas, each offer comfort and relaxation. The rooms and suites feature private balconies or terraces with ocean views, allowing guests to enjoy the beauty of the Caribbean Sea from the comfort of their rooms. Rooms and Suites Oceanfront Luxury Rooms: These rooms offer breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea from the 2nd floor. Rooms are spacious, and elegant with a modern design. Spectacular unobstructed ocean views. The Signature Oceanfront Luxury Rooms also include airport fastrack and private return transfers. These are located on the 3rd floor. Beachfront Suites: These suites offer even more space, privacy, and luxury amenities. With separate living areas, and a large private deck just steps from the ocean. The Beachfront Suites have their own Butler, afternoon tea, garden tours as well as airport fast track and private transfers included.

Dining at The Palm Restaurant is where we had breakfast, a lovely setting overlooking the ocean; a continental buffet, and a hot a la carte are on offer for guests. Open for breakfast and dinner. Taboras Restaurant offers Caribbean-style cuisine, open for lunch and dinner. We felt it was reasonably priced for a luxury hotel such as the Fairmont. This restaurant is also beachfront with stunning views. The bar, next to Taboras is a great place to relax and unwind with cocktails, wine, or beer. Light lunch and snacks are available at the Beach Club. In-room dining is on offer too.

The Beach: A lovely stretch of beach with plentiful sun comfy sun loungers - always readily available. Bar service is available too. The sea was around 32 degrees, the water was so clear and calm, and there was a pontoon where we could swim and chat with fellow guests. One of the most beautiful beaches I have been to.

Spa Services: The resort offers a range of spa treatments from soothing massages to rejuvenating facials, guests can enjoy treatments in the privacy of their room. Fitness Center: For those who prefer a more active form of relaxation, the Fairmont Royal Pavilion offers a well-equipped fitness centre where you can stay in shape while enjoying the views of the beach and sea.

Pools: The resort features a stunning outdoor pool surrounded by lush gardens and views of the ocean. It also has an 8-seater jacuzzi. The hotel offers guests access to a variety of other activities…

Water Sports: Guests can enjoy a wide range of water activities, such as snorkelling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and sailing, these are complimentary. Motorised sports are available at a charge.

Golf: Barbados is home to several world-class golf courses, and the Fairmont Royal Pavilion can arrange tee times at a local course.

Tennis: Two tennis courts are available, and equipment hire is free of charge.

Garden Tour: Weekly garden tours are available for guests, some follow this with an afternoon tea at The Taboras Restaurant.

The Fairmont Royal Pavilion is extremely popular, and early booking is recommended especially in high season
