🌴 Devasom Khao Lak Beach Resort & Villas 🌴

I’ve just returned from a two-night stay at this gorgeous boutique hideaway, and I can honestly say it completely exceeded expectations. Nestled between lush jungle, a peaceful lagoon, and the open sea, this hotel is a haven for nature lovers and those seeking calm, barefoot luxury. It’s no surprise that Devasom is now ranked among Thailand’s best small luxury resorts and having seen it first-hand, I can absolutely see why.

✨ With just 69 rooms, the resort feels intimate and exclusive. The room categories include:
• 10 Pool Villas – 8 one-bedroom and 2 spacious two-bedroom options
• 21 Junior Suites – all featuring a private jacuzzi bath on the balcony or terrace (this was my room category and it was incredible, soaking in the tub while watching the sun set was total bliss!)
• 12 Pool Paradise Rooms – great for families, with a separate lounge area for children
All rooms have at least a partial sea view, which is a lovely bonus.

🇹🇭 Opened in 2018, the resort blends traditional Thai design with modern luxury, with thoughtful little touches throughout, think high-quality linens, locally inspired decor, and warm, welcoming service. It’s also one of the few hotels in the area built with a deep respect for nature and heritage, and the setting really enhances that sense of escape.

🌴 While the resort feels wonderfully secluded, it’s only a 15-minute drive from Khao Lak town centre, and there’s a free shuttle service three times a day, making it easy to explore the local shops and restaurants. Fancy something more adventurous? Take a 20-minute stroll along the beach to Memory Beach, a popular surf spot that still feels relatively untouched.

🏄‍♂️ There’s also a fantastic range of activities included all year round, from paddle-boarding and kayaking to beach yoga, Muay Thai boxing, and Thai cookery classes. These can be enjoyed as group experiences or booked privately (some do carry a small charge). The resort also offers guided bike tours and local cultural experiences, making it ideal for couples, friends, or families wanting to immerse themselves in the destination.

🍽️ Food-wise, you’re spoilt for choice with two on-site restaurants serving beautifully presented Thai and Western dishes. On select nights, you’ll find special menus featuring the catch of the day from local fishermen or premium cuts of beef. Every meal felt like a special occasion, flavourful, fresh, and made with love.
