My Costa Rica Adventure 🇨🇷

What a trip! I’ve just returned from an incredible visit to Costa Rica with Latin Routes, and it’s a destination that really needs to be experienced.

I stayed for 5 nights in September- a time referred to as the Green Season or Rainy Season.

The rain was a short burst once a day - around 4/5 pm.

A great time to go, as this is the optimal time for seeing the wildlife.

I went expecting rainforest, wildlife and adventure, but Costa Rica offered so much more.

Arenal 🌋

Our first stop was Arenal, surrounded by lush rainforest with the incredible Arenal Volcano as our backdrop.

I loved waking up to the sounds of tropical birds, spotting toucans and relaxing in the hot springs surrounded by nature.

Most afternoons brought an amazing and welcome tropical downpour.

Manuel Antonio 🌴

Next was Manuel Antonio, where we stayed at the beautiful Parador Resort & Spa.

Visiting Manuel Antonio National Park was one of the highlights of my trip. We saw monkeys, sloths and tropical birds while walking through the rainforest, before reaching the most beautiful beaches.

Our trip combined Arenal and Manuel Antonio, but there are so many different ways to experience Costa Rica.

You can add or combine Monteverde and its cloud forest, Tortuguero for its canals and wildlife, or head further south to the wild and remote Osa Peninsula.

That’s what surprised me most — Costa Rica isn’t a one-resort destination. You can create completely different itineraries depending on whether you want wildlife, adventure, rainforest, beaches or simply somewhere beautiful to relax.

I’ve come home with hundreds of photos and videos and some amazing memories — volcanoes, rainforest, toucans, sloths, cheeky monkeys, tropical beaches and some spectacular rain!

Costa Rica completely surprised me, and I absolutely loved it.
