Cruising the Norwegian Fjords on Sky Princess – A Truly Unforgettable Experience

There are some holidays you enjoy, and then there are holidays you never stop talking about. Our 7-night Norwegian Fjords cruise onboard the Sky Princess was definitely the latter. Sailing from Southampton and exploring some of Norway’s most breathtaking destinations was an experience filled with stunning scenery, luxury, relaxation, and unforgettable memories.

From the moment we boarded Sky Princess, we knew we were in for something special. We stayed in a beautiful mini suite, which gave us plenty of space to unwind after each day exploring the fjords. Having our own private balcony made the experience even more magical, especially when sailing through the incredible Norwegian landscapes. Watching waterfalls, mountains, and peaceful villages drift past from the comfort of our balcony was simply unforgettable.

We also upgraded to the Premier Dining & Drinks Package, which was absolutely worth it. The speciality dining onboard was exceptional. Crown Grill served some of the best steaks and seafood we have ever had, while Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria delivered authentic Italian dishes in a lovely setting. Whether we were enjoying cocktails in the Piazza, grabbing coffee from the International Café, or relaxing with a drink while admiring the fjords, the service throughout the ship was outstanding.

Each destination had its own charm. Stavanger welcomed us with colourful streets and beautiful waterfront views, while Olden was surrounded by dramatic mountains, waterfalls, and crystal-clear lakes that looked like scenes from a postcard. Skjolden, deep within the Lustrafjord, was peaceful, scenic, and one of the most picturesque places we visited. Bergen was the perfect final stop, combining colourful architecture, history, and stunning harbour scenery.

The scenery throughout the cruise was truly the highlight of the trip. Sailing through the fjords felt surreal at times, with towering cliffs rising from calm waters and snow-capped mountains visible in the distance. Every turn revealed another breathtaking view, whether it was cascading waterfalls, tiny villages tucked into the mountainsides, or endless green valleys stretching into the horizon.

Life onboard Sky Princess was equally impressive. The ship itself was elegant and modern, offering beautiful lounges, spacious decks, pools, entertainment venues, and relaxing areas to take in the scenery. The Lotus Spa was perfect for unwinding, and the fitness centre even offered panoramic ocean views while working out.

What made the cruise even more memorable was the atmosphere on board. The crew were genuinely friendly, professional, and always willing to help. Every evening felt special, whether we were watching live entertainment, enjoying a quiet drink on deck, or simply admiring the scenery as the ship sailed peacefully through the fjords.

Overall, this cruise was the perfect mix of luxury, adventure, and natural beauty. The Norwegian Fjords exceeded every expectation, and travelling through the onboard Sky Princess made the experience even more unforgettable. It is without doubt one of the best holidays we have ever taken, and a trip we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly spectacular cruise experience.
