Travelling with Babies
Your baby's first holiday is a special milestone, and being prepared makes all the difference, whether it's a flight, a cruise, or a UK break. A holiday is a holiday
Top Tips:
Pack more nappies, wipes and formula than you think you‘ll need for your journey.
Bring a change of clothes for both baby and yourself – little accidents happen!
Feed babies during take-off and landing to help reduce ear pressure.
Book accommodation with a cot or travel cot in advance.
If you have an early morning flight, leave your baby in their pyjamas until you've checked in. It makes the journey to the airport much more relaxed, and you can get them dressed once you're through the airport.
If you're flying home on an evening flight, change them into their pyjamas before boarding. They'll be much more likely to settle and sleep, making the journey home far more relaxing for everyone.
Many family-friendly hotels also offer baby equipment, so you don't always need to pack everything yourself.
Travelling with Toddlers
Toddlers are full of energy and curiosity, so keeping them entertained is key.
Top Tips:
Pack favourite snacks and refillable water bottles.
Download cartoons, games or audiobooks before you travel.
Bring colouring books, stickers and small toys for the journey.
Allow plenty of time at the airport so everyone stays relaxed.
Choose accommodation with splash pools, playgrounds or children's clubs.
An early morning departure? Let your toddler travel to the airport in their pyjamas and get them dressed after check-in. It can make those early starts much less stressful.
On the journey home, pop them into their pyjamas before boarding an evening flight. A familiar bedtime routine can help them relax and hopefully sleep for much of the flight.
Sometimes it's the simplest ideas that make the biggest difference, helping the whole family enjoy a calmer start and finish to their holiday. The more relaxed you are, the more they will be and will soon slip into a holiday routine with you and soon adapt back to their normal routine on your return
