7 Nights of Bliss – Iberostar Rose Hall Waves & The S Hotel Montego Bay

My recent 7-night adventure blended just that, a mix of luxury, exploration, and local flavour.

First Stop: 3 Nights at Iberostar Rose Hall

The journey kicked off at the Iberostar Selection Waves Rose Hall, staying in the vibrant Waves section. This area is full of life and offers comfort and style for couples, families, and friends alike. The beachfront setting, wide open pool, and laid-back atmosphere set the perfect tone for the trip.

A standout experience? The teppanyaki restaurant. Dinner was an interactive feast with sizzling dishes prepared right before us by charismatic chefs, part performance, part gourmet delight. It was the kind of meal that brings everyone together and keeps you smiling long after dessert.

A Taste of Adventure: Dunn’s River Falls & Bobsleigh Run

Of course, no Jamaican getaway is complete without diving into its natural playground. Our first adventure took us to the world-famous Dunn’s River Falls, where we climbed 180 feet of terraced rocks, hand in hand with fellow explorers, while the cool water cascaded around us. The views, the laughter, the refreshing splash, pure joy.

Next up, a dose of adrenaline at Mystic Mountain, home of the Jamaican bobsleigh run. Inspired by the country’s legendary Olympic team, gravity-powered ride zipped us through the lush rainforest on twisting tracks with incredible views. It was fast, fun, and completely unforgettable.

Chic Comfort: 4 Nights at The S Hotel, Montego Bay

From nature to modern luxury, our next stop was the effortlessly stylish S Hotel Montego Bay, right on the famous Doctor’s Cave Beach and located on the Hip Strip in Montego Bay. This boutique property is sleek and sophisticated, perfect for travellers who love thoughtful design, great service, and a sense of place.

The pool, nestled between the hotel entrance and the beach, This calm, beautifully appointed oasis became our go-to spot. Chill-worthy loungers, crisp white towels, and a mellow DJ soundtrack in the afternoons created a relaxed yet upscale vibe, ideal for soaking up sunshine or enjoying a sunset cocktail.

Rocksteady Seafood restaurant: The star of the stay! Fresh, beautifully presented dishes, think buttery lobster, zesty ceviche, and perfectly grilled snapper, were savoured with breathtaking sea views. It felt effortlessly elegant and incredibly fresh.

With the pool just steps from the beach, it was easy to switch between salt and sun. The S’s charm lies in its cool, minimal elegance paired with warm island hospitality.

A Magical Night: Luminous Lagoon

One of the trip’s most enchanting moments came after sunset at the Luminous Lagoon, a sprinkle of magic in the Caribbean night. As we swam, the water glowed electric blue around us. It felt like something out of a dream; the water sparkled and glowed around us with every movement. It was such a surreal and magical experience, like nature was putting on its little light show just for us. Truly unforgettable.
