Inspired by the glamour of Marbella in the 1960s and 70s, the hotel successfully captures the spirit of the destination while feeling fresh, stylish and modern. The property is beautifully designed throughout, with bright spaces, sophisticated interiors and a relaxed atmosphere that perfectly suits the Marbella lifestyle.

My Room: Junior Studio Suite

The Junior Studio Suite offered plenty of space alongside a range of premium touches designed to elevate the guest experience. The room featured luxurious Diptyque amenities, a steamer, bar cart and numerous thoughtful details that made it feel both stylish and practical. One of the standout features was the hotel‘s "If You Forgot It, We've Got It" service. Guests can simply scan a QR code and choose from over 30 complimentary amenities delivered directly to their room. Whether you've forgotten straighteners, makeup essentials, nail polish or other travel necessities, the hotel has you covered.

Exceptional Dining Throughout the Resort

Food is a major focus at Kimpton Los Monteros, with seven bars and restaurants available across the property. Our final breakfast was enjoyed at Rachel's Eco Love, which specialises in healthy breakfasts, fresh juices, poke bowls and lighter Mediterranean-inspired dishes. During our visit, we learned that actress Eva Longoria, who owns a nearby property, is a regular visitor and often plays padel at the hotel's courts before stopping by Rachel's. For lunch, we enjoyed tapas in the sunshine, which perfectly captured the relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle Marbella is known for. The standout dining experience of our stay was undoubtedly dinner at YARA. The food was sensational from start to finish, with beautifully presented dishes packed with flavour. It was easily one of the best meals we enjoyed during our time in Marbella and a genuine highlight of the trip. Adding further culinary credentials, Kimpton Los Monteros is the first luxury hotel in Spain to have a Michelin-starred chef overseeing its food and beverage programme, helping to create an impressive dining offering throughout the resort.

La Cabane Beach Club

No stay at Kimpton Los Monteros would be complete without spending time at the legendary La Cabane Beach Club. Just a short five-minute walk from the hotel, guests can benefit from preferential rates on sunbeds while enjoying one of Marbella's most iconic beach clubs. The adults-only pool area provides a relaxed atmosphere for those looking to unwind, while the restaurant remains family-friendly and full of energy. During our visit, live singers performed outdoors while DJs created a lively atmosphere indoors. The food was excellent throughout, but the lobster pasta was a particular standout and is highly recommended.

Unique Experiences

The hotel goes beyond traditional hospitality by offering a range of guest experiences designed to immerse visitors in the local culture. One of the most enjoyable activities we took part in was a sangria-making class at the hotel bar. Available for small groups to book, it was both fun and interactive, providing a great way to learn more about one of Spain's most famous drinks. Another guest favourite is the daily Kimpton Social Hour, held in the courtyard each evening. Regardless of room type, all guests can enjoy complimentary drinks, including wine, beer, soft drinks and seasonal offerings, creating a sociable and welcoming atmosphere.

Wellness & Staying Active

For guests looking to maintain their fitness routine while travelling, the hotel offers impressive facilities. The Technogym-equipped fitness centre is modern, spacious, and well-maintained. During our stay, it was never overly busy, making it easy to fit workouts into the day.

One of my personal highlights was the rooftop bar. With panoramic views, fantastic Mexican-inspired dishes and expertly crafted cocktails, it quickly became a favourite spot during our stay. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, making it ideal for sunset drinks before dinner. A word of warning, though - the spicy margarita definitely earns its name. If you're a fan of heat, you'll love it. If not, proceed with caution!

Final Thoughts

Kimpton Los Monteros Marbella successfully combines old-school Marbella glamour with modern luxury in a way that feels authentic rather than forced. From exceptional dining and thoughtful guest experiences to wellness facilities, beach club access and outstanding service, every aspect of the hotel has been carefully considered.
