All Inclusive holidays have never really been my thing! However when offered the chance to visit the 5 trident Club Med Resort, La Plantation D'albion in Mauritius I felt it was something which needed to be experienced. From the outset, nothing was to much trouble for our Club Med hosts. We flew with Air Mauritius arriving the following day, mid morning. On arrival we were greeted by the friendliest of faces who were to take us on the transfer to La Plantation D'albion. The drive takes you from the East to the West of the Island of Mauritius and takes around 30 mins. There is much to see en route, as you travel through Sugar Cane plantations, giving a great feel of this beautiful Island and a great start to your Luxury holiday. On arrival at the resort you enter a sanctuary! The welcome was probably one of the best I have ever experienced, with a glass of champagne provided to settle us in. The grand reception was simply stunning and immediately we were made to feel at home.
With Club Med there is something new to try every day, so we set about making the most of our time as this was to be an active luxury holiday. Golf lessons, Tennis lessons, Snorkelling trips, sailing and the flying trapeze, which was great fun! From the Family friendly pool, where there is the animation and pool activities, one can adjourn to the Adult Only quiet pool for some real relaxation or a peaceful swim....or why not visit the Cinq Mondes Spa, for a treatment? There is also plenty to keep the little ones and big ones occupied as the amazing childrens clubs cater for children aged 2 up to 17 ensuring, that should you want it, there are supervised childrens holiday activities at all times.
As the sun sets over the Indian Ocean, at 6pm Champagne is served which is the perfect end to a day in the Mauritian sun. Then the decision needs to be made as to where to eat! Dining at La Plantation D'albion will meet any requirement as in the main restaurant, La Distillerie , the choice of cuisine is overwhelming and excellent, with local dishes being served, a choice of fishes, Asian and Chinese options and a grill or Pasta/Pizza bar. In addition to this there is Le Phare, which offers local cuisine for a more special dinner, in a peaceful setting overlooking the sea. One evening, we spotted 2 dolphins passing by, just to complete the scene.
This is a perfect destination for a family friendly luxury holiday, a couples holiday or a Mauritian Honeymoon. The service is impeccable and the choice of activities simply brilliant. My only regret is that I didn't have my family with me, so I will just have to return.
