Estival Eldorado Resort - Costa Dauada

Estival Eldorado Resort - Costa Dauada

I have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Spain visiting the 4* Estival Eldorado in Spain. The hotel is situated 25 mins walk from the beautiful town of Cambrills. Eldorado is a quiet suburb of Cambrills with mostly residential/ holiday homes. For this holiday I did everything I wouldn’t normally do…
  • I went in Peak season, normally I go in quieter times
  • I went to a family all inclusive, as I was travelling with my 13 & 15 year old nieces. And chose a hotel I thought they would love … and they did !
I have to say I really had a great time here at The Estival Eldorado. I have been in travel a long time, I have been to many hotels and this really did impress me. Considering the hotel was full, we never struggled to get a bed on the beach or around the different pool areas. We never queued for a drink or into dinner. The hotel really works hard to get in right with service and cleanliness. It has a very international clientele and a relaxed vibe which I loved. Facilities were very good: There are 3 separate pool areas - One over 18’s adult only with it own bar and Bali beds- very quiet and chilled - One for all the family with a large pool area, swimming lanes and plenty of sunbeds - and finally the pool with the fun slides for children, jacuzzi areas, water falls, swirling river area all set in large lawn area which is dotted with lots of trees to create shade And then don’t forget the miles of beaches along this coast. Sporting the EU Blue flag 2017, the hotel has its own beach (open to the public as well) with beach bar and FREE sunbeds and umbrellas for hotel guests (saving 30 euro a day for 2 beds) and we never struggled to get beds, no matter what time of the day we turned up. You can try your hand at various watersports (for a fee) but they offered free windsurfing lessons twice a week, which I thought was a great idea. The hotel does various board basis - we chose all inclusive which runs from 9am to 11.30pm There is a sports/snack bar around one of the pools and a beach club, serving food 11 am to 7pm – it's self service and again we never had any issues with quality or getting a seat. There is the Adults pool bar and Terrace bar. The main restaurant  has a lovely outside terrace along with air con inside. It is an international buffet and is available for breakfast , lunch and dinner. What I really liked here was the childrens low level buffet so it was easy for them to help themselves. You have wine by the glass or bottle along with beer and soft drinks. On the all inclusive you can also eat in the à la carte restaurant once in seven days, or alternatively you can pay the supplement if you want to eat there more often. This was an excellent experiencez There is also a beach bar included in the all inclusive and this serves drinks and ice-creams and stays open until 2am (n.b. the all inclusive finishes at 11.30pm). There is a great animation programme for all ages with the 3-7 Mini club and 8-13 maxi club running various activities indoor and outdoor throughout the day and ending with the extremely popular mini disco!! And then for adults there were various sports throughout the day. I liked that they didn’t hassle you to join in. I have to say the evening entertainment was the weak spot for the hotel. It was just ok and I think as there were a lot of families with younger children, the hotel tended to think most people were off to bed about 11.30 so it was quiet after then but, as I mentioned, the beach bar was open until 2am for night owls! Alongside this, the hotel has a full modern spa with indoor pool (over 16’s only) plus a very modern and fully equipped gym and studio with various classes throughout the day. I don’t like being isolated just because its an all inclusive hotel and again, this hotel tickled the box for me. Like I said there are miles of beaches all along the coast, and all along the beach are bike paths and walking/jogging paths (no cars) which makes for a very pleasant experience. You can walk into Cambrills in approximately 25 minutes or just 10 Euros in a taxi or there is a resort mini train We hired bikes from the hotel, only 9 euros a day and cycled all the way to Salou and back, 18kms but all flat!
