Oh wow -Â Havana was absolutely incredible! Night 1, my comfort zone was a little tested. But by night 5, I didn't want to leave. So utterly fascinating. I really felt like a 'guest' rather than a tourist. You just live and breathe the true culture and history there.
I think you have to go! Varadero was beautiful and we could totally switch off. But a good learning curve - all inclusive resort is not our sort of thing. And all the excess was such a strange contrast to the lifestyle in Cuba. We were quite isolated and we missed the 'real'ness. Luckily the beaches were beyond beautiful and the hotel was lovely.
