Veggera Hotel - Perissa (Santorini)

I stayed in this Lovely beachfront hotel in the resort of Perissa, If like me you like to enjoy the hospitality of an good standard 'greek' hotel which is spotlessly clean and a very high standard of customer service for its mid range rating then I would recommend the Veggera Highly! Having spoken to the hotel Manager, he did inform me that they have a high occupancy rate and many repeat guests, you cannot get a better recommendation than that! The hotel is split into two sections, with 2 pools ( although I did find space around the pool was limited and narrow) I preferred to use the beach which is straight out of the front door, and the sea breeze made it feel a lot cooler, which was a blessing- one tip, we went in Early June, and it was quite windy, so occassionaly got 'sandblasted!' but it has lovely soft back sand ( very fine pebbles really) which was lovely as an alternative to being around the pool. There is waiter service to the beach from the hotel, and you pay approx 8 euro for the hire of an umbrella and 2 beds, but they give you this charge as a credit against using the restaurant of the hotel 'Pergola' Which is standard with all the properties along this stretch of beach. ( if you stay early and late season they do not charge you for Umbrella or Beds, just 'main' season.) Rooms were cleansed daily, including the bedding, and The restaurant was fabulous, you could sit inside a beautiful elegant dining area, or outside with a view of the sea and passers by, the staff are what make this Hotel and Restaurant, they are so friendly and welcoming, you come as a stranger and leave as a friend. Their enthusiasm is contagious and I was sad to leave. The food choice when you are on Half Board basis is from a different menu to walk in customers, but there is plenty choice to keep you happy for 2 weeks, and they were happy to accommodate any amendments where necessary. There is no entertainment at the Veggera, but that is what is so nice, it is a beautifully presented hotel, friendly staff, nice food and with a great location, No stunning views, just the sea, and Mountain, but so much more peaceful than its very busy and bustling neighbours. It was nice to go into Fira and Oia, but come back to our quieter resort at the end of a busy day! The Buses run regularly to Fira very cheap, and only took around 15 minutes, with stops!! I have stayed in many 5* hotels, but when in Greece, I like to experience a smaller more intimate hotel, and this fits the bill perfectly!! Give me a call if you would like any further details and to check availability! You will not be disappointed
