Best Time to Visit Zambia
The best time to visit Zambia is during the dry season from May to October, when wildlife is easier to spot, and safari conditions are at their best.
May to August
Cooler temperatures and dry weather make these months ideal for safaris, walking tours and exploring Zambia‘s national parks. Wildlife concentrations increase around rivers and waterholes, creating excellent game viewing opportunities.
September to October
These warmer months offer some of the best wildlife sightings of the year. As water sources become scarce, animals gather in larger numbers, making it easier to spot elephants, lions, leopards and other iconic species.
November to April
The Green Season brings lush landscapes, fewer visitors and fantastic birdwatching opportunities. While some remote safari camps close due to rainfall, this is a beautiful time for photography and experiencing Zambia's scenery at its most vibrant.
Victoria Falls
For the most dramatic views of Victoria Falls, visit between March and June, when water levels are at their highest. For activities such as swimming in Devil's Pool and white water rafting, the lower water season between August and December is often preferred.
