Best Time to Visit

Uganda is a year round destination thanks to its pleasant climate and diverse landscapes. However, the best time to visit is during the dry seasons from June to September and December to February, when conditions are ideal for gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking and wildlife safaris.

June to September

This is one of the most popular times to visit Uganda. Trails are drier, wildlife is easier to spot and conditions are excellent for gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and safaris in Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls National Parks.

December to February

Another fantastic period for wildlife viewing and outdoor adventures. Expect warm temperatures, clear skies and excellent opportunities to explore Uganda‘s national parks and rainforests.

March to May and October to November

These months bring more rainfall, transforming the countryside into a lush green paradise. While some trekking trails can be muddier, visitors can enjoy beautiful scenery, excellent birdwatching and fewer tourists.

Whether you're planning a gorilla trekking adventure, a luxury safari or a journey through Uganda's spectacular landscapes, the country offers unforgettable experiences throughout the year, with the dry seasons providing the best overall travel conditions.
