Beaches

Incredibly beautiful beaches can be discovered all along the Goan coastline. There are party beaches, adventure beaches and, best of all, beaches which can offer you complete peace and relaxation - these are generally located in the South. Some of the best beaches include Mandrem which is known for its tranquil setting and, if you like water sports and nightlife, Baga beach is the place to head for.

Wildlife

If you enjoy natural history, Goa has the wonderful Mollem National Park. Apart from over 200 species of birds, you also have the chance of spotting a sloth or even a panther.

Dudhsagar Waterfalls

Situated on Goa’s eastern border, next to Karnataka, the Dudhsagar Waterfalls can be reached by train, Jeep or by hiking and they are well worth a visit. The water falls a mighty 1000 feet into the river below.

More About Goa

Situated in the southwestern region of India, Goa is one of the most popular destinations in India with its sun-kissed beaches, spice gardens and fabulous food choices. You‘ll be greeted with a warm welcome and enjoy a cultural fusion of both eastern and western influences when you visit India's smallest and richest state. There's a unique identity here, mainly due to the influence of the Portuguese who landed in Goa in the early 16th Century. This is a sun-lovers paradise with white-sand beaches that draw visitors back year after year. Arossim Beach is perfect for a quiet day on the sands and the sunsets are truly amazing. Another quiet beach is Ashwem beach in North Goa. If you're looking for popular and lively though, you'd better head to Baga beach where you can sunbathe during the day and then indulge yourself in the lively Goan nightlife come the evening. It's not all beaches in Goa; key areas of interest for visitors include The Basilica of Bom Jesus is a wonderful example of ornate sixteenth-century Portuguese architecture. Located in Old Goa, the Basilica is a UNESCO World Heritage site and holds the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. Another popular attraction is the 500-year-old ruins of Chapora Fort. Set high above the Chapora River, you'll be treated to amazing views over Goa and out to the Arabian Sea if you take the steep walk from the base up to the top of the fort.
