Which Sandals Room Category Is Best? My Honest Opinion After 110+ Nights
Having stayed at Sandals Resorts since 2017, clocked up more than 110 nights and achieved Diamond loyalty status, I‘ve experienced a wide range of room categories. The answer isn‘t as simple as yes or no. It really depends on how you holiday.
* Luxury:Best value for money.
* Club Sandals: Worth considering if you enjoy room service and concierge support.
* Butler Elite: Perfect if personalised service is a key part of your holiday experience.
Why a Luxury category works for me
If you‘re the sort of traveller who loves a comfortable big bed, a good shower, but really only uses the room to sleep, shower and get ready, a Luxury room may be all you need.
Choose Club Sandals if:
* You enjoy breakfast delivered to your room.
* You like having concierge assistance.
* You appreciate a spirits in your minibar selection.
Choose Butler Elite if:
* You want a truly personalised experience.
* You're celebrating something special.
* You prefer someone else to handle reservations and daily arrangements, or if you like to get up late knowing your sun loungers have been reserved in your preferred spot.
One of the biggest misconceptions about Sandals resorts is that upgrading your room category gives you access to exclusive restaurants, pools or beach areas.
With Sandalsthat's not true, whether you stay in Luxury, Club or Butler accommodation, you'll enjoy the same restaurants, entertainment, bars, pools and beaches. That's one of the reasons I've returned to Sandals time and time again.
In Sandals Curacao, every evening we watched a butler escort our new American friends to dinner, on the night of their anniversary their butler had arranged their preferred table, drinks and a surprise dessert. It's these little touches that explain why some guests wouldn't dream of staying in anything other than a Butler suite. Our friends explained it was their time to connect; they really enjoyed breakfast with the views to sea and a much later arrival at the pool, knowing their beds were reserved and favourite bottle beers on ice in the cooler.
My Final Verdict
If you're asking me purely about value for money, I'd choose a Luxury room most of the time.
However, the "best" room category isn't always the most expensive. It's the one that matches the holiday experience you want.
Some guests couldn't care less about butler service. Others would never travel without it once they've experienced it.
The key is understanding what matters most to you before you book.
That's where I can help.
Having stayed at multiple Sandals resorts, I know which rooms offer the best views, which buildings are in the best locations, and when upgrading really is worth the extra cost, or whether, like at Royal Plantation in Jamaica, every room comes with a Butler. In Ochi, Butler rooms are often cheaper than club rooms at other resorts, located in the Butler village. I'll happily talk through the options and help you find the room that's right for your holiday and your budget.
