The Hilton Salalah

The Hilton Salalah is only about 15 minutes from the airport, and enjoys a good beachfront location. Inspired by traditional Omani styles, the hotel is set in attractive grounds of palm groves and pretty floral gardens. With its backdrop of the dramatic Dhofar mountain range, it really is a nice place to be. The staff are pleased to welcome you and create a very friendly atmosphere. The hotel offers 147 Arabian styled rooms and suites, all with the comfortable and attractive furnishings and in-room facilities that you would expect from the Hilton chain. Each has a lovely view either of the mountains or the ocean. There is a good selection of dining options - the Al Maha is a great place for breakfast and in the evenings offers very popular themed cuisine nights; the Mayfair Cafe, with its speciality teas and coffees and naughty but nice homemade cakes; the Palm Court, open for lunch and dinner and offering a varied and enticing menu; the Sea Breeze Bar, a lighter menu is available here and a great range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks; Sheba's steakhouse, which as it name suggests serves premium steaks, and finally Whispers Bar, open till 2am has a full drinks menu, and if you still want more food has international bar snacks too. This is also where live shows take place and bands perform. Outside is the traditional shisha terrace. The Hilton Salalah offers a good range of recreational facilities which include a fitness centre, freeform pools (with waterslide) and a sub-aqua diving centre. Children are welcome here, and have a hotel run club, with a wealth of games and activities to enjoy. In addition they have their own pool and playground. At mealtimes they can select from their own menus, and a babysitting service is in place to give parents some special time-off. So, the Salalah is a nice place to stay, in a good location, allowing easy access to the city, with its many attractions...its a good choice.
